When the Tamagotchi Pix was first announced Bandai America was transparent about the battery life. They indicated that the Pix, the successor to the On, would actually have a decrease in battery life. No mentions on the specific reasons as to why, but we would assume the touch sensitive buttons and built-in camera are to blame.

Late 20221 Bandai released two new Tamagotchi Pix shells, Ocean & Nature. Some owners took to social media to express that they feel the better life might be better on these models. Now this is not something that we believe to be true. To our knowledge the programming of the device is identical to the first wave which are the Floral & Sky shells. The battery life is subjective to your use, the more often you use the touch buttons, or the built-in camera the shorter battery life you will get. Also, the quality of batteries you use also matters. Better quality batteries will yield better battery life, and we highly recommend rechargeable batteries.

We are going to debunk this rumor, but we cannot be sure for certain. If future versions of the Tamagotchi Pix are to be released, we wonder if those revisions will make any difference to battery life, one of the biggest flaws to the Tamagotchi Pix.

Nature & Ocean Tamagotchi Pix Updated Processor Uses Less Power, But Does It Have Better Battery Life?

Slinky Ramune, who just dissected the new wave two Nature Tamagotchi Pix discovered that the two newest shells have a newer processor. Through further discovery Slinky Ramune has found out that not only is the processor more powerful, it actually uses less power at full speed, it’s actually less than half of the energy draw from the wave one Floral & Sky Tamagotchi Pix shells.

We reported on this a few months ago, and came to the conclusion from polling owners of both wave one and wave two shells that the battery life is basically the same. However, could there truly be a difference due to the new processor being more efficient? The jury is out on this one, but we’re all in favor of a more efficient processor, and longer battery life.

Did Bandai use the delay in wave two Ocean and Nature shells to engineer the Tamagotchi Pix with an updated processor and therefore increased battery life? After all, we do miss the battery life of the Tamagotchi On which could get us up to fourteen days based on standard use. The Tamagotchi Pix cut that in half thanks to the touch buttons and built-in camera.
