Battle Beetle is a flawless cartoon beetle. Everything you love about a rhinoceros beetle, with white gloves! What more do you need? They appear in Macro Zone, where they are the size of normal beetles, as well as in Tree Zone, where they’re the size of Mario. That’s what more you need! A beetle big enough to hug!

Battle Beetle is a Japanese rhinoceros beetle, perhaps one of the best beloved of all insects. If you’re familiar with Bug Culture, you may be aware that Japan simply ADORES beetles! They’re seen as heroic fighters, as they should be, and it’s common for people to catch them, and any other insects, for fun.

That’s wonderful and all, but... it makes me sad about the Western view of insects! Why does everyone act like butterflies and ladybugs are the only “good” bugs? They should all be celebrated! They’re everywhere! Come on, America! Stop acting like you don’t know what a cicada is!
