Whenever you start putting cookies away in a tupperware it always begins so neatly, so lawfully. Tidy little rows. A beauty to it—nay, a strategy. And then by the end it's always utter chaos. Battle lines all askew, no plan or hope in sight. Where is that cavalry charge you ordered? A horse! Your kingdom for a horse!

So I was struck with AU inspiration over the week and I realized something. We've all seen the AUs where Ashfur's killer is switched up, we've got Squirrelflight, Lionblaze, a few for Jayfeather, we've even got one with Crowfeather!

However...we don't have one where Leafpool kills Ashfur. You're probably thinking "But Trell! Leafpool is a medicine cat she would never do that!" Wouldn't she tho? We've seen medicine cats kill before, Hawkheart and Yellowfang being the first to come to mind. Plus with Leafpool being the one to kill Ashfur it ties her back into the plot of Po3 in a much more interesting way than the mystery of who The Three's bio parents are.

Plus, I just want to see Leafpool protecting her family less in an emotional way and a more proactive way. I wanna see her amgry and frustrated with the way her sister and children were being treated even before thr truth was revealed. Give me a Leafpool paying her sister back all the love and sacrifices she had to make by taking in the Three.

Now Leafpool definetly could NOT take Ashfur in a fight, but Leafpool works smarter not harder. The most logical way of killing Ashfur would be to just stright up poison him, maybe slowly feeding him holly berries that would make him sick and thus making him frequent the med den more often giving Leafpool a chance to slip him something stronger. However poisoning him would make it easier to implicate Leafpool in his death.

Another way she could get rid of him is drowning him. I'm pretty sure at somepoint in The New Prophecy during one of Leafpaw's chapters Mothwing gave her a few swiming lessons when they were hanging out. If not it wouldnt be too far fetched to assume because of their close friendship that Leafpool might have picked up that skill from the Riverclan medicine cat. Again, Leafpool can't take a fully trained warrior in a fight, but she could be using the first method of slowly poisoning him with a less potent poison and weakening him. Then she just suggests that maybe it's the smoke inhalation and he should get some fresh air. Then like Hollyleaf she stalks him to the windclan border and drowns him in the border stream, cleaning up any evidence of her being there and setting his body afloat to further make it seem like he slipped, fell in and just wasn't strong enough to fight the current.

...and then we've got a more compelling murder mystery cause who ever think sweet, innocent Leafpool could hurt anyone~?
