I FINALLY watched some season 3 episodes!! Zatanna and Presto lets talk!
Oh my God THIS EPISODE!!!!
First off just pointing out Batwheels is in my opinion still one of the best modern preschool shows. There are not that many reboots that actually know what theyre based upon and respect where they came from the way Batwheels does. As i said before i like the way Batman is kept Batman, but i dont know much about Zatanna. When it comes to the DCU i am totally lost and i dont know whose lore is who. I'm not sure if Zatanna is evil or good, im not sure if she practiced actual magic like she does in Batwheels, i dont know if shes an ally of Batman. But what i do nknow is that i love her Batwheels design.
She looks a bit like an equestrian. She gives me dressage rider, is anyone else with me on this.
Batwheels yet again proving it can redesign but not ruin. Same thing they did with Joker. I think this design suits her very well. Defo gives me Zatanna.
Also, in case shes not friends with Batman then eh, i think thats kinda a bummer, because in this episode she and Batgirl appear to be close friends, so i'd say Z is on good foot with the Batfamily. Wich is an idea i love batwheels wise. Because i loved her in this episode.
The only complaint about this episode is that i have is that i saw the plot coming already very quick into it, as soon as i heard Zatanna was giving a show i just knew the car was gonna be insecure about its magical abilities, and omg he was a CUTIE PATOOTIE
Because lets see Presto here
Yes. This is a car i feel like Zatanna would drive, or at least this depiction of her would. The makers of this show almost always nail the human > vehicle resemblance without basing the vehicles too much off the owners so the vehicle still gets its own personality and is noticably its own person but you can still see who drives it. Wich doesnt go for every pair sadly (cough cough catwoman cough cough) buuuuut thats a rant i've screamed into the void millions of times already and im not gonna repeat what is probably burnt in my blog from the amount of times i complained about it
I really love the idea of the Batwheels vehicles looking up to their drivers. Presto looks up to Zatanna a lot and he would love to be as good at magic as she is. Look at this squishable huggy cutie patootie frootie i need to hug this little man
His friendship with Bibi is really cute too. I definitley feel like they suit each other really well. Bibi is really good at encouraging Presto. I feel like Bibi goes wel with insecure people as it is, because she is really good at encouragement. Most of the time Bibi needs to give more of a push in the back, but with Presto it works like a charm. I like that Presto doesnt feel that overshadowed and insecure, he just looks up to his driver and thinks shes really cool. And i like that. In this show you have characters like Bam, who started out thinking they needed to be like their drivers and their way is the way, insecure of making a mess doing it their own way, wich is something Bam struggled with a lot. There are characters like Prank, who really just dont give a flying fuck about what their drivers do, they just know the foundation of their reason for existence and just kinda go "okay cool". Presto just loves his driver and admires her skill, and hes scared to ruin it because he thinks his magic is largely dependent on her. He doesnt feel like he NEEDS to be like her, he just WANTS to be. I love thats its not only insecurity playing a role, its a child looking up to an adult doing cool stuff and thinking "wow i want to be able to do that!" With Bam it was just plain insecurity and self blame.
I do have to say that this episode felt really really rushed. There wasnt much to the new characters, i would have liked seeing more about Presto, but most of it is just the confidence journey, wich is good dont get me wrong, but like.. it felt like it went by faster then normal. This episode felt super quick. I really like Presto and this depiction of Zatanna but personally i really wanted to see more of them. I want to see Presto interact with the rest of the batwheels sometime, i feel like he and Bam would be a match made in heaven, they'd be best friends in no time.
The friendship between Bibi and Presto is really cute. Bibi was the one coming up to Presto first, and i like the way Presto just goes "oh? New friend? New friend! :3" its really cute seeing the batwheels just be kids. Bibi is a social butterfly that will befriend everyone and Presto just thinks "seems nice = friend." So adorable
Even though it felt a bit rushed, i loved this episode. I hope we'll get more Presto and Zatanna in the future! <3
