A EUROMILLIONS winner who scooped £148million battered her ex-lover three times causing head and neck injuries, a court heard. Gillian Bayford is accused of attacking domestic abuse campaigner Gavin Innes, 46, while they were dating in 2017.

Bayford will now stand trial next month after pleading not guilty to a single charge of domestic assault. Dundee Sheriff Court heard Bayford, who was not in court, has now remarried and uses the surname Deans. She had met Gavin in school and they embarked on a relationship after he asked her to help with a charity he was starting for male victims of domestic abuse. He still campaigns on Facebook and Twitter to raise awareness of the problem.

Gillian then fell for convicted fraudster Brian Deans, who once pinched £13,500 from Tesco. They married near St Andrews, in August 2018 - six years to the day after landing her lottery jackpot. Gillian scooped £148million with then hubby Adrian, 47, in 2012 and the pair celebrated the staggering win with Domino’s pizza. But the couple separated 15 months later after nine years of marriage with the cash split equally between them. The ex-hospital cleaner moved back to her native Scotland from Suffolk with their two children and launched a property business. She spent millions buying homes to rent out, and bought a cafe, "Sugar and Spice", in Arbroath. But the cafe shut in 2016 - putting 21 staff out of work - after reporting a £129,000 loss.
