Makes sense tbh. Modern vampires take a lot from various bits of mythology and every culture comes up with some sort of life-stealing monster that is casually translated as vampire.
(Same with dragons-- there is absolutely nothing in common between wyrms and lungs besides being vaguely reptilian but we translate them both as "dragon" and just call them Western and Eastern dragons. And even then, every region has major differences)
One Eye could very well be described as an archetype of a vampire;
Must be invited into your group or your body
Superficially noble, but easily figured out if you actually listen to him
Steals life force-- eats the whole body and soul of a victim
Has a servant, much like a Renfield or the Dracula wives.
At some point I would also like to make a mythological creature derived from him. Some mix of shrikes, boars, and ticks.
