So uh, I went to Disneyland last weekend and I got a droid at Galaxy’s Edge Droid Depot and I love my son dearly so I decided to draw my beautiful boy

Everyone, please meet BB-01, my pride and joy

Still not completely happy with the weathering, but I’m taking a break so it can join the other red&white things being gathered as Xmas decorations this year.

Also currently debating trying to add another red stripe next to the center seam to disguise it a bit better.

Got the panels lined and the rivets all painted. Not the best job, but I don’t think I have the brush control to do better. Most of the really stretched out ones look rounder? Ish?

Honestly though, if I paint another BB I’ll pick a different body.

Also added an open panel on the head. Printed out a nice little bunch of internals, but forgot to account for the amount of plastic on the inside of the head. Ended up having to do some modification by hand. Also a little messier than I would like but it’s the best it’ll be!

Decided on a simple design. Used the same weathering technique, worked better with more hairspray, that’s for sure.

Also stole an old gunpla sword as an antenna. It’s pretty solid, but I’ll probably replace it with a printed part eventually.

Krylon Fusion Silver -> Hairspray -> Krylon Max White -> Scrub with steel wool

Pretty happy with how it worked out, definitely needed more hairspray though.
