It's fun to see the things that changed over the course of BB's early development. Noel, along with several other characters (a surprising amount, really) were originally listed as having very different birthdays in official material.
It's strange- given her name, I would've expected that her birthday was always planned to be Christmas.
However this happened, I like to include stuff like this in my personal headcanons. In this case, I like to think of February 2nd as Saya's original birthday, since we never learn what it is.
Or maybe 2/2 could be the day that Noel was brought home to the Vermillion household. We know she was smelted and rescued on 12/25, but we have no idea how long it took from the day she was found until she was properly adopted.
IDK. Just a fun bit of early BB trivia!
I've wanted to see Maria, Gratia and (female?) Izzy drawn together since forever, you basically made my dream came true dsjhdhgf ;-; Does your Izzy have Loran descent? Other two characters associated with Loran (Henryk and Suspicious Beggar) are brown too, so I thought...? Would make sense for her (?) to be so interested in those beasts if it is essentially reclaiming lost heritage, not to mention the NPCs 'Successors of Izzy' are roaming Loran too!
Hi Kat ;)
Thats an interesting idea! But no, Izzy in my fic actually comes from the same land as Eileen. And since I decided to use the Dark Souls geographical names for the purposes of worldbuilding (Yharnam for example is located in Carim, a land of pale-skinned people whose knights fight without shields) I arbitrarily chosen Jugo as the name of the land. In DS2, Jugo is a desert land famous for its seductive sorceresses and pyromancy but by the time Bloodborne rolls around, that past has been long forgotten. Izzy was forced to leave Jugo as a child and grew up in the slums of Yharnam where she ended up mixed in with the wrong crowd. While Eileen has a strong grasp on the culture of her country (especially when it comes to funerary customs, she is truly appalled by how Yharnam disposes of their dead) Izzy is a Yharnamite through and through.
My Izzy does indeed explore the ruins of Loran alongside the Byrgenwerth scholars tho! And she and Archibald end up working for Mensis after leaving the college. In Yahar'gul, they continued their studies on the Loran Darkbeasts.
About your tags on the Ignis post, I didn't know Aspec!Terumi headcanon was controversial? (Like, he's not human, I can't see gender or sexuality coming naturally to him.) What do people usually headcanon him as? Straight?
I'll admit I'm largely just assuming it's controversial. I think a lot of people equate "talking about sex" to "wanting to have sex," so with Terumi's constant dirty mouth and euphemisms it can make sense to read him as sexually motivated. Like, 'he talks like a pervert, why wouldn't he be one???' I guess I just think that Terumi doesn't fit the fandom stereotype of "asexual."
I'm really not involved in shipping and that side of fandom, so to be fair this is the opinion of an outsider looking in. But I think a lot of people headcanon him as gay or bi. He's paired with Relius, his hosts, or Trinity most often.
A lot of people are also inclined to interpret their faves as similar to themselves, so that bias may color my interpretations and those of others. I myself am an asexual Terumi fan, so that may be influencing me!
As for my personal hcs/interpretation...
@ramix-the-red;
Right!? Considering who she was married to, just the fact that they were together brings up a whole mystery. Like you, I find it extremely hard to believe that it was just a normal relationship- I don't see Relius as someone who just falls in love and marries. Some villains do lend themselves to this image of "they're a crazy villain most of the time but have an exceedingly normal personal life," but that's just... not Relius.
For my own personal theory/read on the situation, I definitely think you're on to something with the idea that it was some kind of strategic 'marriage of convenience.' Looking at who Ada and Carl became, and looking at what Relius values, I imagine Ignis must have had an incredibly 'notable soul.' Whether that meant she had a very strong soul, or just a very interesting one (think Relius' interest in Meifang) that Relius felt would be 'good material' for him to work with Relius Trying To Propose: "I would love to study you" or what, I don't know. Perhaps, as you mentioned, he was already looking for a soul to use as a core for his Detonator project- or perhaps he just found her fascinating, and having her as a research specimen and an available resource was part of what pushed him into creating the Detonator line.
Since we don't have an official birthday for her (or any information, really) I like to headcanon May 8th as Ignis' birthday.
Normally I might do some Ignis posts on that suggested birthday, like I would any other character, but a 5/8 birthday would overlap with Hinata Himezuru's official one.
And, like, Hinata already has so little recognition in the fandom. I don't want to creep into her birthday too much.
Therefore I'll be posting an Ignis or two now, on the cusp of 5/8, and focus on Hinata for the rest of the day proper.
Took the words right out of my mouth, @mystech-master.
I love finding ways to include concept art and scrapped details into my own internal canon. I've let my mind wander on a few potential fanficy tangents, and the first direction it went was considering Lenka as one of the many Yayoi siblings lost before Tsubaki.
