Referee calls. You're not going to agree every single time with the referee. But what are you going to do? Shout at them? Berate them because they got a call "wrong"? But how many times have you seen a call reversed because someone got angry? I've never seen it as a solution, and I never will. I forced a shooter to change his shot- everybody was walking back, but the call was reversed. 🤷♂️ Oh well. Shrug it off, smile- and get back in the game. The next play is the opportunity you need. If you choose to argue, you'll only lose out. Grabbed a steal right off the inbounds. One of my first rec games in my men's league- a spectator on our side applauded my "calm composure" with the referees. To me- it's my own understanding of the game- refs are humans, and human error exists. And I've never been yelled at and wanted to help the person out more. 🤷♂️ Another thing, referees can't see everything- some little things get by, because their view is blocked, or they had a bad angle on the action. They can't feel any of it, and sometimes they are forced to make judgement calls. It's not perfect, but it's an element of the game. Maybe one day they'll create a game with computer sensors and wearables that can calculate/blow the whistle when needed. But until that happens, smile and play on. And like one of our favorite refs, Walt says - "You can either play or you can ref. Not both." #AllYouCanShootCurry #th3op3rator #basketballcoach #basketballvideographer #bballcoach #bballislife #getbucketseveryday #playforkeaps #keapathlete #KeapAthletics (at San Diego, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B250mYQg_6D/?igshid=j6td27lcimfl
