Hello, folks! An update on a difficult decision.
The heart of this blog has always been community connection - telling our stories, sharing what we know, letting people be seen. But a huge part of the blog has also been coining new terms, especially where there are gaps in how we talk about specific concepts (like how I named some of the outherinity categories that had yet to be named.) That part is really fun, but I've been a one-man army here since the very beginning, maintaining and editing a wiki that now has over 600 neolabels on it. It's hard not to have help and yes, it could be due to some past stuff. Maybe people want the useful information but not the interactivity with me. That's understandable.
That being said, I'm deciding not to coin any more terms. I've exhausted my list of ideas for terms anyway, but I don't plan to add anything more to it. Instead, my focus is on writing and on archival. This blog will be more focused on informative posts and firsthand experiences, rather than putting more and more new content out that I need to keep track of. It doesn't help that I'm manually archiving each article from the YB3 Wiki due to the fear of losing the whole thing. I feel like it's only a matter of time before Fandom makes its way over to my tiny corner of the internet, so I want to be prepared.
My terms and their flags have always been and will always be accessible to everyone. This giant Google Doc has every one of my coined terms in alphabetical order (minus about six that still need to be added to the Wiki.) It has the general definitions and the categories they fall under based on how they're sorted on the Wiki, so a quick ctrl+F can help you find specific types of terms. Apologies if it lags. It's 114 pages long.
But, I'm going to go further than that. My neolabel articles have a lot more information on them that never got included anywhere else, like pronunciation guides, how these terms relate to similar terms, the date they were coined, and their archive links. I want to manually copy-paste the text from EVERY neolabel article and put them in my already-accessible portfolio in alphabetized folders (and I'm already done with everything under letter B, so it's getting there!) I will eventually make a post to announce when this giant portfolio is done and ready to be accessed by followers.
I won't disappear from this blog, though I might have a lot of downtime because I'm either focused on archival or too tired to post, but Fandom is the lowest of priorities and term coining is indefinitely finished. The Maverinities Wiki will not be updated anymore because it's more important that I maintain the @database-of-maverinities blog instead.
If you're part of the admins who are maintaining new wikis that are not on Fandom and my terms are there, feel free to hit me up to help you expand those articles and provide more information as needed.
Anyway, I think that's all for now. I might provide updates as I finish some of my archival work. I think regular(ish) updates will help me stay on task and actually get all this done. And of course, I'm always archiving swathes of information over on @stormy-archives.
