Because of this, the pair of them saw a lot of Cap and Havers interacting and are the OG Capvers shippers, which then became a trio of shippers with Thomas.
This then leads into a hysterical rabbit hole of what their reactions might be to the Captain and Havers failing to confess their feelings the day in Cap’s office

It throws the Captain off for a moment bc he forgets ofc the kid doesn’t know what it means.
He doesn’t know cap is saying ‘Be careful with it, because it was a dying gift from the man I love. Be careful with it, because it’s the only thing I have to remember him’, and he’s agitated because someone else is touching it and there’s nothing he can do about it
Can you draw Rimmer from red dwarf and Captain from ghosts meeting and maybe starting some sort of dead people who are still obsessed with military rules and salutes and also pretend they are a higher rank club? Thanks!

Fun little detail. In cap’s death scene, in every frame where Havers is visible after they make eye contact, you can see Havers staring at the Captain in the background.
He keeps his eyes on Cap through the whole exchange with Cartwright, even though he’s clearly in the middle of another conversation. If that doesn’t scream romantic love in return, idk what does
