Continueing my Amelia piece. I was thinking about her a lot when I was doing my big bad dogs presentation for my friends, cause I also presented some theories.
When the MC goes full Biker Boy route, we meet Amelia in the hallway and she is a little b*tch and unfriendly as hell, telling us we are reckless (which is true cause MC at least believes, she doesn't know Biker Boy well, we will see of this is true) and she assumes, we are desperate and not seeing what is right in front of us. Is she talking about herself or her brother? In the first case she is jealous, in the second case it could be a hint that we also "forgot" interactions we had with Lane and might have been closer to him then we think.
Things that might hint this:
MC calling Lane PB in the drunk route, so she uses a nickname she apparently only "remembers" when she's not clear in her head
When we examine the drawer in MCs apartment, we can find a mad dog receipt with Lane's details on it, but can't remember putting it there
Amelia asking us at the end of shift 2 if we're still calling him "Lane"
Girl, you could call him PB of course!!
When we're looking into mirrors in the game there are hints that MC might be depressed and also that there is someone else smiling back at us. MC might be a split personality ever since that incident. I would totally love that tbh.
There is also the scene and the beginning of shift 2, where the MC can take a look out of the window, the phrasing here cought me off guard:
The words are used in a weird way:"You say you don't mind the height" and "I wonder if thats true", so who's the You and the I here? maybe the other Person smiling back from inside the mirror? We will see if this is just me overanalizing things again.
Against my PB theory speaks that Lane doesn't seem to react to the name PB at all, or at least it doesn't seem like he heard the name before. He's surprised or irritated by it.
What could PB stand for?
In the drunk scene the assumption is "Piercing Boy"
Spar0w herself hints in a post, that it could be an abbreviation of "Pretty Boy"
Now I'm cooking (this theory might be ridiculous): MC is the owner of the red helmet and Lane maybe was sitting right behind her on the same bike sometimes, so PB could mean: Pillion Boy/ Pillion Bitch /Pillion Buddy
Why do I think that?
the red helmet has a crack, hinting an accident the MC had, hinting the crack and familarity of the helmet, when MC was riding with Biker Boy
Biker Boy tells MC, he never had an accident (this might be lie though, I don't expect characters to tell the truth all the time)
Next Theory: PB could stand for Problem Boy. This would confirm Lane's personality and role in the whole game, because he is so far responsible for provoking BB in shift 2. Jelousy is driving Lane into an aggressive direction which could ultimately make him the other Yandere in the game. Can you make the jelous Boy kill for you?
The whole BB vs PB names also makes a nice duality. We're choosing between two unsafe men, but they have cute nickanmes, with
BB being the stranger, external danger like stalking, murder and other physical aggression VS
PB being the familiar, socially accepted danger like mysoginy, crossing/pushing boundaries and entitlement of attention.
Maybe I also let the name getting to my head, and Its's not that deep.
Anyways, here are some of my BBD theories, if they turn out to be trash, I'm laughing at it later ahaahahh
