I don't know if this ever happens to anyone else, I'm sure it does. Does anyone else ever get into a niche, especially back when you were younger, and then you revisit it. What you realize is that, not only did you not have a fandom back then, but especially now that you've revisited it? It's even MORE niche than it was back then. Then that can be made even worse when the creators seem to just...forget that it exists.
My main example of this is certain otome games. Some get really popular, then others aren't, which is expected. But it feels so sad when you find nostalgia and comfort in something and you can't shARE IT WITH ANYONE! And then the creators don't produce any more for the game, so you're stuck just wishing you had more to consume. I don't even have fan interactions to go on. :(
It's not an issue by any means, it's bound to happen, it's just sad. Especially when you think this thing has potential for more.
FOR EXAMPLE; Voltage Inc games. Even more specifically, BBDIB(Bad Boys Do It Better). Typical anime otome game, six love interests, some extra content, etc. This was my first game like this, so naturally, I fell in love with it. So not being able to share it with people really sucks. It doesn't have anything on AO3, like....seven super old posts on Tumblr, etc etc.
It's not necessarily specific to this game but the experience in general. I gotta wonder if I'm the only one that feels this way!
