Donut ‘Debate’

I do not see there to be a large debate over Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts for donuts. There is no competition, nothing can beat an original glazed donut from Krispy Kreme. In fact, they are the only donuts that I will eat, I am not a huge fan of any other types of Krispy Kreme or any other donut shops donuts. I do like Dunkin’ Donuts ice coffee and other breakfast sandwiches, but if I am going to eat a donut it has to be an original glazed from Krispy Kreme, always fresh and warm and just taste like pure happiness. Even if I did like other types of donuts I think I would still prefer Krispy Kreme just because I feel like their donuts are usually fresher, where as Dunkin Donuts usually just has donuts sitting in baskets behind the register. Plus, you can’t beat watching your own donuts being made! I have been to Krispy Kreme multiple times with my suitemates this semester and we always just get two boxes of donuts, I had to make a special trip to Dunkin to do this because they did not want to go. (easy to see what they like better) I would say if I wanted breakfast I’d go to Dunkin Donuts but just for donuts Krispy Kreme allllllllllll the way!!!

After going out and trying both Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts, I have come to the conclusion that in my opinion, Krispy Kreme wins the battle of the doughnuts by far. I went out on Thursday and tried both doughnut shops. Ironically, on Thursday both Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts were having sales on their doughnuts. Like the quality, and taste of the doughnuts, Krispy Kreme also had a better sale going on than Dunkin Donuts did at the time. To be honest, Dunkin Donuts is not a bad breakfast place overall, in fact I believe that they have got more variety than Krispy Kreme for a restaurant as a whole, but when it comes to strictly doughnuts, Krispy Kreme is definitely the way to go. In my opinion there a very few other foods on this planet that taste as good as a “Hot Now” Krispy Kreme doughnut, and of course you can not forget about the glass of cold milk that perfectly compliments the warm succulent taste of a Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnut. The doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts simply do not compare to that of Krispy Kreme. I believe the determining factor for me is the glaze that Krispy Kreme uses for their Donuts. After having one, you will never want a dry doughnut again.

Presentation Review

To start off I really enjoyed everybody’s presentations, I really think everybody did a good job. The presentation I enjoyed the most was the presentation to save the bees. I thought this presentation looked very professional and it was easily enjoyed. I think the campaign for this is a rising one within society today. The cause is truly a great one and one that the presenter seemed to really care about. I think the twitter page and infographic were extremely effective in getting the message out there. The twitter page looked extremely professional, as did the infographic, and seemed to get a lot of attention. I was very interested in learning more about this campaign. Again I think everyone did a really good job in presenting their projects and really enjoyed listening to all the presentations and learning about all the different issues in the many different communities of the world.

Extra credit, donut challenge

I just went to both Dunkin’ doughnuts, as well as krispie kreame, and put all past bias aside and went to both establishments with an open mind. Now let me tell you why I still believe why dunking is better than krispie doughnuts. Let’s begin with the topic of menu choices, which dunking trumps krispie with a far more extensive menu and a larger variety of options. I grew up on dunkin’s famous munchkins, which krispie tried to copy however could not do it near as well. On top of that, dunkin and krispie both offer bagels,(not every krispie has bagels” but say you want a big and toasted “texas toast with egg and cheese and bacon” or eggs and other delectable breakfast options on a bagel, can you get that at krispie? I think not. 9/10 walking into a dunkin you can bet its gonna also be  baskin robbins, where my family would buy the famous ice cream cakes for EVERY birthday, this is way better than krispies stupid ice cream cones. I won’t lie walking into krispie today i was totally ready for some hot glazed doughnuts, however i was in a rush and were they hot and ready? nope. i even asked how long the wait for the biggest hype they have to offer would be, and the response i get is 20 minutes. I don’t know about you guys but i nor the average person has time for that. when it comes to the product, they aren’t all that different. I still think dunkin is better and has better options, but you have to account for all these extra factor such as their delicious coffee and non archaic atmosphere that you are getting when choosing a doughnut shop. I’m a big coffee guy, and i gave both places a chance to impress me. Dunkin’s Iced Macchiato had me feelin fancy with the perfect balance of flavor while krispie simple iced coffee had me feeling sick to my stomach, you can also bet that those two cups had me jacked up and gave me the energy to write this almost as fast as i received my order at dunkin. Remember, America runs on Dunkin. i hope next time you are choosing between these two, you remember the various factors dunkin offers that krispie’s simple basic doughnut shop can’t, and don’t stick around for those hot and ready’s too long because they are NEVER COMING!

Final Tumblr Journal

I thought that the two vegan presentations, Hudson’s and Felicia’s were the most successful campaigns, because they got the most feedback. Although some accounts got a lot of followers back, it seemed like a lot of our class’ genres (including my own) lacked feedback from our audiences. These two students though, got tons of encouraging feedback! It was so cool to see how many nice supporters they had, even though they were strangers! Instagram seemed to be very affective for them, which made me wish I had tried it for my own project. I thought that both of their presentations were really good! I like how Felicia tried to be vegan for a month, because it shows that she is very passionate about her community and project and definitely added a lot of pathos to her genres! I really enjoyed Hudson’s cooking video, because I thought it was a creative and fun way to inform people how you can easily make a yummy vegan meal. They both had interesting instagram posts that got a lot of likes and comments and stirred up a ton of positive feedback! Great job!

Presentation Review

First off I think everyone did a good job presenting their genres and it was interesting to see how everyone built off of the issues they wrote about in project 2. I think Rebecca’s presentation was the most effective because all of her genres were located on a single site. I was thinking of creating a website for my campaign originally but didn’t follow through with it. Having everything on one site makes everything more organized, and I also think it’s effective for reaching target audiences because they can find everything in one place. Her presentation centered around that site, and I liked how interactive she made it. I liked the idea of people being able to interact with members of her community and kind of become a part of that community as well. I personally didn’t have too much prior knowledge about natural makeup so i found the issue itself to be very interesting. I want to take a closer look at all of her genres to really learn something from them. I also think that since the topic is so interesting it makes people want to find out more about it which pulls in more views. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this presentation as well as everyone else’s!

Presentation Review

I really enjoyed everyone in my class’ presentations. I thought all of them were well thought out and everyone put a good amount of time and effort into each project. As nervous as I was, I actually must say that I enjoyed presenting my very own project as well. Out of all of the good presentations I saw, I believe Hudson’s project discussing the topic of veganism. I liked his idea of using a buzzfeed It was interesting and something that I had not seen anyone else incorporate in their project. Another aspect of Hudson’s project that I really like was his vegan Instagram page. Hudson had posted a lot of pictures to the page in the short amount of time we’ve been working on the project, and he had a decent amount of feedback from the followers he had gained. He even got the same type of response from two members of the vegan community that used certain lingo no one had heard of before. I also personally liked the fact that Hudson’s creative process before creating his compositions was similar to mine. He said he chose veganism because he would likely soon be becoming a vegan as he will be moving in with a vegan roommate shortly. We both took the same approach by choosing a topic that we could possibly be getting involved in in the near future.

Presentation Review

      I really enjoyed everyone’s presentations. All the topics were interesting and I learned something about each one.       The campaign that stood out the most for me was Hudson’s #VeganBeStrong. I found the campaign to be well-thought-out and very effective. First of all, his genres were on point. I’m a big fan of all three of his choices, Buzzfeed, Instagram and Youtube. They are extremely popular among the social networking sites we have today. It was a really smart choice that resulted in a lot of people engaging with his compositions. Furthermore, I have always believed that the best way to get to someone is humor. His Buzzfeed article was humorous, with the memes, gifs and his writing style, and at the same time informative and persuasive. In regards to his Instagram, I loved how he was active and got really innovative with his posts, like by including an interview and recipes. He knew how to keep the campaign alive and give the audience what they wanted.
