So you want to know about Shizuka (and by extension Akane and B) eh? Grab a seat this is going to be a long one.
So my L AKA Shizuka (images below)
Shizuka is an ancient god of control and order. He was created first before chaos- the god of birth and creation brought him into the world to create control and order. Later having to balance out this Akane(B) was created as the god of chaos.
The god universe was all that existed initially before the multiverse big bang came to be. He is the progeny of the existance of L and also vampire species itself. Since he is both a god and a vampire.
Shizu himself begins out like looking exactly like L(first pic). He acts as L would and all of the traits and characteristics canon and other L variants have like eating sweets, sitting crouched, lack of sleep, come from events that shape Shizu as a newly created god.
Shizuka once he starts getting the hang of his responsibilities a few thousand years into his existence ends up having his peace come to a total end when chaos is brought in and created into the world.
Akane ends up being birthed and now well shit- Shizuka has a new headache and responsibilities. At first tending to a godling he absolutely feels like hes babysitting and watching over a pain in his ass.
Akane being the absolute chaos fiend he is is unfiltered unhinged and basically an endless ball of chaos.
Akane keeps Shizu in check because too much control is not a good thing and too much chaos is also not a good thing so they both balance one another out.
When a god is born they can name themselves which Shizuka did for himself- but Akane lacks a name and names hold heavy power with gods. So what ends up happening is Shizuka and Akane both end up naming one another which ties their souls together and they become soulmates eternally. Shizuka names the god of chaos Akane and Akane cheekily responds back by nicknaming Shizuka as Shizu. This of course happens eventually not immediately think like thousands of years of the two just going at it with eachother before it just ends up happening.
After their souls have been entwined their romance becomes very intense heated and just absolute chaos as expected with Akane. Akane pushes Shizu out of his comfort zones and boundaries and they are like very devoted to one another.
But all good things end up coming to an end at some point. Their romance ends up falling to doom because this is a world of gods- and one god in particular(the god progeny to Light Yagami specifically. He represents the god of manipulation and corruption) ends up becoming particularly jealous of the power and control that Akane has over Shizuka. Because the god of control is a very powerful thing that he has wanted to have for himself.
Akane gets stabbed in the back by the god of manipulation via an ancient god splitting knife. It causes his soul and body to split in half thus forming the creation of the Akane and his soul form.
Now before the knife stabbed him he basically looked like what we know B as appearance wise. Like how Shizuka's appearance as a god their physical bodies initially are exactly the same as the L and B we know.
However when his body is split apart the body itself takes a life of its own and the soul reforms into the long haired form above.
However what ends up happening is Akane- being the reckless chaotic person he is he overexerts himself upon reforming and ends up making his entire body just crash out and enter a new reboot. His subconscious gets trapped inside his own soul but he is conscious the entire time. Meanwhile his soul reboots and this is the birth of the first "Beyond Birthday". The B we all know and love he looks just like B should same cocky arrogant chaotic menace we know and love. This B is like a fledgling he comes to life as a full grown adult with no knowledge of the world.
For Shizuka this is absolute turmoil his soulmate has just collapsed in himself- and now has an entirely reset self before him which he ends up falling in love with just as much as Akane. He knows Akane is still in there too unsure whether Akane is aware or not he consciously walks on a thin line trying to treat the entire situation delicately.
And he juggles this feeling of love for Akane and B going forward. He grows to love B.
B ends up being the reason Shizu ends up loving and enjoying being mutilated/gored up too. Their relationship is very violent and grotesque and because Shizuka is a god he can just continue to regenerate.
This causes a major domino effect on Akane's very soul and Shizuka's that would later effect their multiverse counterparts (aka the toxic dangerous beyondlaw romances you would normally read about in fanfics and see in art) but those variations of L and B are not immortal where as Shizuka can literally have his intestines torn out for example and be just fine(and he likes it its consensual gore).
I want to note as well that when this collapse of Akane's form takes place his body loses its immortality physically. This is a precedent thats never happened before so Shizuka and also Akanes original body (Beyond) both know B is going to die eventually. Which he does 31 years later in his physical 50s. Shizuka offers to turn him into a vampire- which he turns down because he doesn't want to "be an old fuck forever" as he puts it and would rather die than live forever in an older body.
When the death finally happens; both Shizuka and Beyond(Akane's body), they both dont know wtf is going to happen to a god when their body dies- especially the god of chaos- it creates a literal big bang which is the birth of the multiverse.
Every iteration of B represents just a tiny fragment of his soul- but the main soul itself Akane and the og B end up entering cycles of reincarnation.
Meanwhile Beyond has located the knife that split Akane from him. He shares the find with Shizuka. They do not know who stabbed Akane btw. Shizuka decides to make a number of very life and world altering events that take place.
1. He goes and turns Beyond into a vampire to ensure he lives forever since his body is not attached to Akane's soul anymore.
2. Shizuka proceeds to stab himself with the knife. Unlike Akane- maintaining control of his new reformed body(their oc designs are their soul forms btw). He splits himself in half and his god(L) body takes a life of its own named Lawly. Their bodies names are where L and B in the multiverse take to those names rather than their god names(Shizuka and Akane).
The reason Shizuka does this act to himself is because he loves every version of Akane out there. Literally every fragment in the multiverse he accepts and loves. If a fragment ends up in a relationship with another character, Shizuka will never intervene and support the ship(so basically my au accepts all au and everyone elses au B and L).
So because he loves every version he splits himself so he can go find his Akane the original thats out there somewhere in the vast infinite multiverse. While he gives his body to Beyond because he cant bare the thought of Akane's body suffering alone in the god realm by himself.
This version of B is a very elegant mature BB think like his personality is VERY similar to Mephisto from Blue Exorcist as my main inspiration.
Lawly (Shizuka's body) is nothing like L though. He is a representation of bastardized moeblob interpretations of L that really push an ooc innocent naive sweets loving creature you might see fanart for (lol)
Shizuka then proceeds to jump through universes individually looking for that universes B and confirming whether its just a fragment or Akane/B.
He finds Akane sometimes. And fails every time.
But most times its not the right B and you need to understand the scope is the entire multiverse. If someones made an AU it becomes a universe. Same with fanfic. Art etc. The god AU considers every single one part of its lore automatically. Aka everything is canon.
Not every universe has his Akane and the rare times he does find Akane- he fails because B is reborn forgets all his past lives and reincarnates over and over and we know how toxic and tragic beyondlaw already is by default. Shizuka is literally putting himself through all this torment for literal millennia he is ancient by the time he finds his B and FINALLY saves him.
And Akane? Akane is conscious through all of this inside of B- unable to control or do anything. He has no autonomy anymore- and he cant shut his brain off he has to witness and experience every single life cycle B goes through and every universe hes reborn in. Akane gets to witness Shizuka trying and failing over and over and he has a very love hate relationship with B because B is him- but not at the same time.
He has jealous feelings because he has to witness Shizuka and B together romantically and intimately. He is extremely frustrated because he is arrogant and Egotistical(after all he is B) he sees himself as above B- and also just the fact he sees actions B might do that he can see where the outcome will go because hes an ancient god with a higher set of knowledge and wisdom.
Eventually Shizuka does save B and that is the vampire BB I tag and draw a lot of. This is Shizu's BB.
The canon version has his own lore to the AU too ofc.
Shizuka and Akane are aware of the fourth wall (B as well) too.
Vampires in this AU and gods can universe hop at their own discretion.
Akane himself is obviously the progeny to B and the B fragments but he himself is also the original shinigami too. Which is why and how B has the shinigami eyes in the first place. This trait takes effect to his other fragments ofc unless theres an au out there where he doesnt have them.
Vampires in this AU become soulmates by turning one another so besides the name sharing between Akane and Shizuka- Akane at a point before the soul stabbing incident asks Shizuka to turn him thus sealing their souls tied forever. They chose eachother rather then letting fate decide it. They chose their own fate- just like how B chose his own L to become his soul mate.
B's L- is later turned and requests it of B after Shizuka has turned B(a parallel to Shizuka and Akanes choice of fate).
Anyway;
We are in present time. B gets cocky and experiences a fatal wound through his chest causing a gaping hole.
In that moment Shizuka arrives because Beyond(Akane's og body) happened upon B in his own traversing and sent a signal out to Shizuka to come to the universe they were in.
Shizuka arrives finds B bleeding out and B lets him turn him into a vampire. Finally making him immortal.
When he finally saves B this puts in motion the events that eventually lead to Akane finally being free which involves using the hogyoku from the Bleach universe to clone B's soul which allows Akane to finally be free.
So in present day/time Shizuka and Akane actually do regain their former bodies. Basically Beyond and Lawly get reabsorbed back into the two respectively. It then allows Shizu and Akane access to switch between their two bodies whenever.
Shizuka tends to go between both forms. But Akane typically is usually in his soul form- when he does use his B form its usually to piss B off or some ulterior motive. He loves turning into his god form to gloat at B or bicker.
Shizuka is like L if L lived millions of years wiser and has literally seen so much he is very very tolerant of the bullshit he deals with from B and Akane respectively. He can and does enable the bullshit B and Akane do cause.
Shizuka loves B and tolerates a lot of shit. When he finally finds B again he has already formed a connection with the L from the new life cycles universe and he does not try to come between them. (The AU forwards a lot of polyshipping.)
Akane loves doing absolutely ridiculous shit for fun and causing havoc in their modern days now living altogether in this magical apartment (aka the apartment from hell). Akane rarely walks on his feet(though he can and will usually if Shizuka tells him to or scolds him when they go to other worlds or universes to mess around). Akane floats around everywhere he goes and he usually does it upside down too.
Akane's hair ends all are autonomous and the hair moves about independently like seperate limbs with minds of their own that move based on his own emotions.
Both Akane and Shizuka have a thing with their hair too where the ends glow if they experience strong emotions. So Akane can tell if Shizuka is mad or upset because Shizuka's hair ends glow blue. Meanwhile Akane's hair glows red on the ends. Akane's hair is more likely to glow since hes much more openly emotional just due to his nature.
Akane's relationship with B is almost like two rivals or two bickering siblings that constantly want to one up eachother. They are both the same damn soul and yet they both are at odds with trying to prove which is the better version.
They will literally debate over which one is the "true" B/Akane. They both care for eachother deep down though. They do after all love themselves.
Akane also like Shizuka does love every fragment of Shizuka(L) but he expresses it in a much more intentionally poking the bees nest kind of B way of doing it. He absolutely loves ruining any L's day because its funny.
I would go into B himself but I wont since I have gone on at length about Shizuka and Akane but I am glad you asked about Shizu because I have been meaning to go into detail about him and Akanes lore as I've been asked before about them.
Anyway present day B is an immortal god vampire shinigami and he knows he is overpowered he knows hes fictional and he knows he can get away with shit. He finds his canon counterpart to be hilarious and he has fun jumping into other anime universes with L, A, Grimmjow, Akane and Shizuka to cause havoc now. He is domestic and very deeply committed to his worlds L. The apartment from Hell/BBHTA/GodAU then becomes a slice of life bullshit fest with knowingly overpowered gods just fucking around doing whatever to entertain themselves because at current point in the AU B has lived for a few hundred years now.
