Encanto Next Gen - Part One

Dolores and Mariano

So I took that one line in the movie in which Dolores says Mariano wanted five babies and ran with it.

They have twin girls and triplet boys and their girls are the first to be born in the next generation, which is why they are the first to be listed.

1. Vida Madrigal:

-Appearance: Wavy black hair, brown eyes, dark skin with some freckles

-Gift: Earth Manipulation

-Symbol: Tree

-Extra: 'Vida' means 'life'. Yes, it is what Felix called Pepa in WDTAB. Yes, it is both a pet name and an actual name. Yes, Felix and Pepa both laughed when Dolores told them their granddaughters' name.

2. Maya Madrigal:

-Appearance: Wavy black hair, brown eyes, dark skin with some freckles

-Gift: Water Manipulation

-Symbol: Raindrop

Extra: 'Maya' means 'water'. As you can tell, I am very creative.

3. Maximo Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly brown hair, brown eyes, mocha skin

-Gift: None (next head of family)

-Symbol: Crown

-Extra: 'Maximo' means 'greatness'.

4. Alvaro Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly lighter brown hair, light brown (sometimes grey) eyes, mocha skin

-Gift: Air Manipulation

-Symbol: Cloud

-Extra: 'Alvaro' means 'elf warrior'. He is not an elf. I just thought it sounded neat.

5. Inigo Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly reddish brown hair, amber-yellow eyes, mocha skin

-Gift: Fire Manipulation

-Symbol: Flame

-Extra: 'Inigo' means 'fiery'. This fits well with his gift, but not so much his personality, as he's actually very calm most of the time.

I find it funny how each of their kids have the basic elemental powers, except for their middle most child, who has no gift. I did play around with other types of ideas, though, but did eventually say 'screw it lets make them all benders' in the end. Am I unoriginal? Maybe. Do I care? Not if I make it interesting enough I don't. (Don't worry, the way their powers work IS very interesting and I'm excited to share that info later on too!)

Encanto Next Gen - Part Four

Mirabel and OC (Mateo)

What's cuter than meeting your future partner at a wedding? Meeting your future partner at a DOUBLE wedding! That's right, Mirabel meets this character, Mateo, at Dolores and Mariano's wedding. Which is also Isabela and Hugo's wedding. Because they decided to celebrate on the same day.

And so in walks Mateo, a new addition to the village of the Encanto, and what's next is history. They, like Luisa and Julio, have a girl and a boy, however their children aren't twins.

As usual, here's a short description of Mateo before I list the children:

Mateo: Chocolate brown hair, forest green eyes, light mocha skin. I like to think he's a painter and he and Mirabel connected through their love of the arts. He came to the Encanto from Italy.

Now, onto the kids!

1. Bianca Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly chocolate brown hair, yellow-hazel eyes, light mocha skin

-Gift: Light Manipulation - Flight (she manifests light-constructed butterfly wings, which is the main ability of her gift)

-Symbol: Butterflies (I know they're also Mirabel's symbol, but that was during the movie! whoops, a spoiler)

-Extra: 'Bianca' means 'white'. Her design is very colorful, however white is her base color. As in, she wears a white dress with stripes or designs of different colors.

2. Daniel Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly black hair, green eyes, mocha skin, freckles

-Gift: Teleportation

-Symbol: Circles

-Extra: 'Daniel' means 'God is my gift'. I do think teleportation is a truly OP gift. Also, he wears glasses like his mother, but I haven't yet decided what color they are.

Encanto Next Gen - Part Three

Luisa and Julio (OC)

I had a lot of fun creating this part. Not only Luisa's kids, but also their father as well. Of all of them at the moment, Julio is probably the adult OC I have the most fleshed-out. They have twins - a girl and a boy. But here's a quick description of their father first:

Julio: Black hair, brown eyes, dark skin. While once a crooked thief, Luisa saves him from certain death and he not only gets a good helping of Respect Woman Juice, but he renounces his old life and learns how to be himself as well. He's definitely the type of guy who screams "I LOVE MY WIFE" from the rooftops. He also only barely comes up to her shoulder bc hhhhhn Height Difference

Now, onto the children!

1. Sofia Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly dark brown hair, hazel eyes, deep mocha skin

-Gift: Super Speed

-Symbol: Lightning (I know, how original)

-Extra: 'Sofia' means 'wise.' This makes sense considering she's a very studious person - which you wouldn't expect given that her gift is very physical.

2. Marcello Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly dark brown hair, pale hazel eyes, mocha skin

-Gift: Mentifery - He can turn his thoughts and imagination into reality, through his dreams and daydreams. He's often lost in thought.

-Symbol: Stars

-Extra: 'Marcello' means 'like a hammer'. I might work this into his character...somehow. Right now, let's just say Luisa named him and call it a day.

Encanto Next Gen - Part Two

Isabela and OC (Hugo)

I know a lot of people headcanon Isabela to be either a lesbian or aro/ace - and so do I sometimes! - but for this universe she is bi with a preference towards guys. Hugo Madrigal is one of my many ocs I made for this universe, and their love story will be on AO3 along with Luisa, Mirabel and Camilo's. For now though, here's the list of Hugo and Isabela's future children, in which I gave them three daughters because I'm funny like that.

Before that, though, here's a small description of Hugo so that you guys know what he looks like:

Hugo: Curly blonde hair with grey eyes - he's European and came to the Encanto some time after the movie. He's also a huge nerd and is really into astronomy.

Now, onto the children!

1. Romina Madrigal:

-Appearance: Brown hair (able to change color/shade somewhat), hazel eyes, darker tanned skin

-Gift: Prehensile Hair

-Symbol: Hairbrush

-Extra: I don't actually know the meaning behind the name 'Romina', I just thought it sounded pretty with her surname.

2. Emilia Madrigal:

-Appearance: Wavy dirty blonde hair, greener hazel eyes, tan skin

-Gift: Replication/Duplication

-Symbol: Infinity Sign

-Extra: 'Emilia' means 'rival'. I might do something with this in the series, haven't decided yet, though. For all I know, I'll write her as an absolute sweetheart.

3. Luna Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly deep brown, almost black, hair with silvery grey eyes, dark skin

-Gift: Gravity Manipulation - activated through song

-Symbol: Crescent Moon

-Extra: Y'all already know 'Luna' means 'moon'. Hugo named her. And yes, with her gift, she is basically a bard.

Encanto Next Gen - Final Part!

Camilo and OC (Rafael)

(Or...Camilo and ???)

Of all the pairings and future lives I have given to the canon characters in Encanto, my story for Camilo is probably the most fleshed-out. As in, his story is the main driving point for the series, as he and his kid(s) will be front and center in terms of story progression. What this also means is that of all the characters, Camilo is the one I have to explain the least about.

So without giving too much away, Camilo eventually marries a man named Rafael. He also has a son. I cannot tell you who the mother is. I can, however, describe Rafael like I did my other OCs.

Rafael: Inky black hair, yellow-amber eyes, mocha skin with an olive-ish tint. I like to think he has a job doing something very physical, like construction or farming or something.

Now onto the kid. But again, I can't tell you much about him!

1. Leandro Madrigal:

-Appearance: Curly auburn hair with unusual icy blue eyes, mocha skin and freckles

-Gift: ???

-Symbol: ???

-Extra: 'Leandro' means 'lion man'. He doesn't like his gift very much. But like Camilo, he's very into acting.

And with that, that's the end of the next gen explanations! I'm currently working on the drawings, so expect them to be posted soon!

(Also, I do have ideas for Antonio, so don't worry, I didn't leave him out, but as he's 10 years younger than everyone else at the LEAST, i decided to wait.)
