Today’s prompt challenge for @owlcratebookclub was books and scarves. I have so. many. scarves! Buuuut it’s 90degrees here because it’s technically almost summer, sooo...no need to use them. Sigh. . . I am deeply unhappy with this picture. We have terrible lighting - even when there is actual light outside - and I feel like that comes out obviously in this photo. I need to find someway to make it better,but I’m still learning lighting and placement and such. 😐😩 . . Just finished these two books by Renee Ahdieh. I preferred “Wrath and the Dawn” more than “Rose and the Dagger.” I didn’t much like the “twists” that came in the second one. Too overhanded. I meant to do this challenge yesterday but whoops! I fell asleep. Holiday today for Veterans Day, so I got to take some pictures in the light. I took a bunch so will probably be posting 2 a day this weekend... . . This challenge was children’s books and the magnetic bookmarks. I somehow don’t own “Where the Wild Things Are” but “The Giving Tree” is my favorite children’s book. Had to include some Gail Carson Levine because those were THE books to look for at book fairs! These copies of mine are so so loved and worn. . . Today’s challenge for the #book battle has me pretty excited. Turns out my FAVORITE author (Mercedes Lackey) published a book the year I was born: Oathbreakers! I have the whole Heralds of Valdemar series (only like 1/3 are pictured here) including almost all the short story compilations! 😮 😍😊 . . Mercedes Lackey has some of the strongest, complicated female characters I know in all kinds of roles. She has LGBT characters like they are no big deal and characters with disabilities as well (my favorite trilogy has a blind character). And I’m pretty sure I’m doing what I’m doing today as a living because I want to be a Herald.
