Trying to write Or Else I Can't Stay Deacon pretty differently from how I write Bunny Dear Deacon while still having it be DEACON, but there are two very specific headcannons I just can't seem to shake:
1) Exudes ambivalence at face value, but at his core is extremely posessive of sosu and jealous of anyone that comes near them. One way that he deals with this is by finding ways to make sosu wear his clothes, specifically his shirt, bonus points if he takes it straight off his body and gives it to them. Something about his scent signaling to others that sosu is claimed.
2) Panty thief.

Deacon does not prefer to travel during the day and be tucked into shelter at night, as he's led Whisper to believe. He prefers that Whisper travel during the day and be tucked into shelter at night. He knows what kind of people come out after dark, and he knows what they're out there doing, and he doesn't want Whisper anywhere near it.

In Darling we learn after his meeting at HQ that Glory was back from her second trip to the Glowing Sea.
In the main quest line (which this Nora does not follow) you make two trips to the Glowing Sea to get the plans for the teleporter, which is exactly what they were doing.
Chapter 3 of Darling takes place mere hours after Deacon learned that they were building a teleporter, and the events of that chapter transpire with him believing that he will soon be going under deep cover in the Institute.
So now you know 🤗
I was asked a few months ago what young BD Deacon looks like in [REDACTED] and while I don't usually imagine the finer details of faces while I'm writing I did think about it a bit and landed on Frankincense Pontipee from Seven Brides (pre-grooming) as his claim.
Except not dirty because duh of course he wouldnt just be a filthy animal. His hair is messy though because it's a strange texture and he's got that beard I keep forgetting to mention. 😅 Also if you haven't noticed, and I don't blame you if you haven't bc I only bring it up every other paragraph or so, he's Very Tall, which doesn't come across in that gif where he's surrounded by a gaggle of enormous mountain men.

I was so distracted watching Punisher Season 1 bc every time she was on screen I had to clean up a puddle of drool. One of the most beautiful women that has ever existed for real. No wonder our growing boy fell in infatuation love with her at first sight.
