I made another paleontology meme
I learned about the BEST thing in my paleo discussion section today. My college experience has peaked.
Because I've said it before and I will say it again, scientists are not the paragons of rationality that everyone seems to think they are. They are the most unhinged beings in the universe and I am convinced they survive off chaos energy and spite alone. Almost every interaction I've ever had with a scientist has been either super laid back or just hyper manic. We are all highly competent in a few specific things but the issue is that all of our brain cells are dedicated to those things not at all to things like social convention, lab safety, or general self care.
I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH
Just last week my PI at the paleontology lab I work at had a rotting roadkill cat in her car which was parked outside in the sun for at least 9 straight hours and this did not surprise me at all. I can not make this shit up y'all.
Adventures in paleontology curation
People: Wow scientists are so cool! They are so smart and professional its intimidating.
Scientists:
So I'm tumbling this really pretty blue quartzite and I just put it into cycle 2 today. It looks absolutely amazing so far, I'm super happy with it but I have this inexplicable urge to put them in my mouth whenever I look at the photo from earlier.
