Rufus Sewell is turning 50 this October 29th! Since we did a donation drive for GOSH in the Spring, I figured we should try something a bit more personal for his birthday. So we’re making a video set to a David Bowie song (since Rufus is such a huge fanboy), and we need your submissions to make it!

Deadline for submissions is October 15th, 2017. More details are under the cut:

My idea is to make a video of us fans set to “Let’s Dance” since that’s an upbeat, party-type song of David Bowie’s. Thus, it would be great if I could get clips of some of you dancing! However, you don’t have to dance, or even show your face if you don’t want to. For example, you could film yourself backlit behind a curtain so we can only see your silhouette, or only show a part of yourself such as your shoes (”put on your red shoes” is in the song), or even have something else “dancing” (Rufus DVDs maybe?). If you need any ideas, just let me know!

EDIT: Some people are saying they don’t want to do a video, so if you just want to send a picture of yourself or some fanart or a poster that says “Happy birthday” or something, you can do that instead!! I’ll include it with everything else, slideshow-style.

If you want your name included in the end credits, please mention that when you send me your clip, and tell me exactly how you want it to be written. For example, “Ana (aka annachibi)” or “John Smith” or whatever. No tiny messages, though - just names.

The video clips should be anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds long (or longer if you want me to pick out bits myself) and preferably in mp4 format, but I’ll accept anything I can make work. You can send them to me via email at [email protected], upload them somewhere like mediafire or google drive and send me a link, or even send it directly through twitter DMs. If you send me something and I don’t reply within a day or two saying I’ve received it, please send me a message on tumblr or twitter! I don’t want to accidentally miss anyone’s submission!

As stated earlier, the deadline will be October 15th, so that should give everyone plenty of time to come up with ideas and make stuff. Then I’ll have a couple weeks to put it all together. More info may be added here if necessary.

The key will probably be getting enough participants to fill up the length of the song, so if you’re interested, please don’t be shy! Think of the smile we could put on Rufus’s face. :D

We simply couldnt fit everyone into it because there were so many people): we’ve made a blog for everyones submissions though so we could include everyone who sent stuff in
