2020 Belle De Jour Power Planner Sneak Peek + Review
The only planner I trust is a BDJ one. Getting the 2020 planner is a must and here’s what I learned about it.
Prepping and Planning for A Positive 2017
Prepping and Planning for A Positive 2017
I love writing. I love colors. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been in love with scribbling all sorts of things and thoughts on colorful paper. I do that every single start of the year. I’m delighted to report that the same thing will happen this year with cute twist. I begged off the quite heavy Belle de Jour Power Planner this year and settled for its smaller, sleeker, and much simpler version:…

My inspiration 2017
As every new year starts, I have a mantra to keep myself going for the rest of the year. It serves like a fuel to my inner fire that each time I feel weighed down, I only have to go back to my mantra to bring my fire back again. Since 2008, the Belle de Jour Power Planner has been my to-go planner. Their colorful and thematic planners year in-year out has fueled me to go through each year with a…

REVIEW: BDJ Power Planner 2017
NYE wouldn’t be complete without this little gift for myself. So before the past year ended, I went straight to the mall after work and bought this power planner from Belle De Jour. Keep Reading!

I never thought choosing a planner would be so hard and daunting. But I also did not think that receiving a different planner would be harder. Today, I choose Belle De Jour Power Planner. While many would think it is normal because I had my first job experience in Viviamo! Inc. (BDJ Publishing), I only used BDJ once. It was during my first year in Viviamo. But I've always been an Everything Is Possible (EIP) or CBTL planner user. It is because I don't see myself as girly as having a girl on the cover of my planner. I live by inspirational quotes and freedom to doodle. The new design of EIP, which is also a Viviamo product, seems like a dream planner for me. I was so ready getting my hands on that planner. I included it in every single wish list being asked from me. In fact, I included the bookstore branches, even the price whenever I put it on wish list. But just when I thought everything was smoothly flowing, on Christmas day, my sister handed me her gift. I hurriedly opened it, thinking it was my most-awaited EIP planner (it was ranked #1 in my list!). Behold, I got a BDJ planner! I paused. Unsure if I was disappointed. But it out rightly came out of my mouth that it wasn't the planner I asked for. Not the planner I asked for. I repeat, not the planner I asked for. For a melancholic-choleric person with Owl as a spirit animal (Myer Briggs), not getting what I wanted does not make any sense at all. I wrote all the possible details: where to buy, how much, complete description. But why did I get a BDJ planner? I was still calm, of course. I was convincing myself I could still go to the bookstore and have it replaced. Besides, we still have the receipt. In my head, I was already planning my trip to the store and get it done. I was doing my calculations if it's acceptable to settle with this planner or still push through with replacing it. I learned it was bought Dec 24, so as a rule, I still have one week to have it replaced. December 31 is the last day. As I write this blog post, it's already December 31. And I don't have any plans of going out today. Well firstly, it's the end of the year and we usually don't leave the house so we could celebrate at home. Secondly, as written in the second paragraph, I have decided to use my BDJ planner. Not because I'm too lazy to go out and have it replaced, but because I am happy with what I got. In fact, I realized it was a good incident that I got to receive something I did not ask for. Why? Not only did it show how a control-freak I was, but it taught me to be happy with things given to me out of the goodness of their hearts. To be honest, even though I have listed EIP planner in all my wish lists, it’s still under the discretion of the person giving me the gift as to what gift he/she will give me. They have the option to choose and not choose from the list I created. They say it’s the thought that counts. Well this time, it really did count. It mattered to me that my sister, who is really not familiar with all my weird requests, took the time to go to the bookstore and search for the BDJ Notebook I included in the list. Yes, there was a BDJ notebook in the list at #2 rank. She wasn’t even planning on getting the EIP planner, but the bookstore staff told them (she brought my niece with her to accompany her) it’s not available anymore and showed them the BDJ planner. Because it’s still a “BDJ” product, she opted buying it than not buying anything. The notebook is priced at Php 280, while the BDJ planner I got is priced at Php 598. It’s even double the price of the gift I was asking for! Opening the planner was the best part (wala ng balikan, sisirain ko na yung balot eh). While scanning through the pages, reading the articles, I realized it was not so bad at all. In fact, it was a good planner for me. It was not what I asked for, but it’s also not something I wished I didn’t get. My point is, it’s okay not to get what you want! Life doesn’t work that way. We don’t always get what we want. But we can be sure Life gives us what we need. It’s always a matter of accepting and making a choice. I can choose to think that she did not look hard enough for the EIP planner, but I can also choose to be thankful that she decided to get me something –which is not a bad decision at all. I’m not saying it’s not okay to get what you want, but I’m just saying you can choose to accept something different and still be happy about it. Try new things. Be grateful. Live satisfied.
Week 21 & 22: BDJ Planner
@ferrywrites designed my #belledejourpowerplanner yay!
I’ve been using a planner since 2009 but I really suck at it. I mean my handwriting was not developed to be as neat as I want to be because I am lazy. I write like a doctor when I am in a hurry (sorry doc, we refer to your handwriting). After using all my college planners and some generic ones, I decided to get the BDJ Power Planner. The design is cute and it’s functional.
After four years, I am…
