And if you’re feeling like it is futile remember that is exactly their strategy, to create that feeling to get people to tune out and throw up their hands and not participate and therefore make it easier for them to manipulate policy and laws to their selfish aims. Take a stand. If you have a voice, use it.
(And if you are in a country where voting is not permitted, or is wracked by violence, or corrupt, then you have my sorrow. I push for the day when you will have your voice. Wherever you can and feel safe to do so, even if things are corrupt, there can come great and surprising change when people band together. If you cannot or if things are just not safe, then stay safe and take care of yourself and those around you.)
(And if you live in a country where the rule of law is being eroded every day by those in power and they are engaging in all manner of shenanigans to reduce the freeness and fairness of elections, then please take my double invitation to get out and stand up. Because once the rule of law is eroded it never comes back without great cost.)
