What is your stance on Minecraft AUs/fanfictions? Are they allowed to use the Minecraft tag?
When I hear Minecraft AU/fanfic I assume you're asking about one of two things:
Fanfiction that elaborates on the implicit lore of Minecraft (basically a theory about, idk, the society who originally lived in the Trail Ruins, presented in narrative form)
Crossover fics that feature characters from another media, either playing Minecraft as a video game or being transported to the world of Minecraft, isekai-style.
Both cases are about Minecraft as a game, so by the logic I've been using with this blog they'd belong in the #minecraft tag. However, while tagging a lore-adjacent fic with #mineblr makes sense, I would avoid using it for the crossover types.
More generally, if a fic is written out in the body of a post (instead of just being a link to AO3 etc.) it's best to put it under a read more / line break, so people can scroll past it easily if that's not what they're looking for. And of course, fanfiction about mcyt servers / series / smps / etc. does NOT belong in any #minecraft tags.
