burnt the yellow ferric clay / ochre I had collected today, using a small hand torch for a few seconds. I turned reddish brown, same color as the Moroccan ochre from Kremer pigments did, which is labelled pigment yellow 43. I burnt this one also for comparison. Result: the ferric clay (yellow bean ore clay) from the Jurassic linestone hills at the Lauchert and Danube rivers in southwest Germany contains most likely pigment yellow 43, which is hydrated Iron oxide, Limonite. wikilpedia:Yellow ochre, FeO(OH)·nH2O, is a hydrated iron hydroxide (limonite) also called gold ochre. #beanore #ferricclay #yellowochre #bohnerz #bohnerzlehm #lehm #gelberocker #limestoneyellow #juragel #jurassicsea #jurassiclimestone #jurassicsediments #erzlehm #earthpigments #watercolors #handmadewatercolors #pen #claypen #lehmstift #lehmfarbe #ironoxide #ironpigments #limonite https://www.instagram.com/p/ByzEGY1IpPO/?igshid=1af786mkq24u
