Been trying to do some studies to understand what's important about the shapes and design of https://toyhou.se/23464900.bear-lady by the very talented HuniedHam as well as trying to come up with some quick simplifications for simple emotes I can use for doodling in my journal.

That said, it's clear that it has been WAY too long since I've drawn seriously. Moreover, I'm not capturing the roundness of the character and the scale. The head should be smaller, the hips wider, and there's something about the facial construction I'm not even remotely capturing, but I'm not skilled enough yet to be able to discern what.

Regardless, it's a really cute design, and I would like to get better. I'll need to practice more and see if I can get some redlines. (And also see if I can get my pen to register pressure more reliably. Line weights were driving me insane.)

as you can see, I have a big love for mythological creatures. I’m working on this magical universe where these specific ones live

most of them don’t have names or personalities, but thanks to some friends I named the last one ‘Luxiem’. They are of a flying race in charge of sharing light during dark nights and delivering messages during emergencies [fun fact: Luxiem has an unexplained phobia of butterflies]

as for the first two, they just live in my brain so far! not many details aside from the first one is from an agender race and the second one (bear lady) is a regional nature goddess :))

#2 is The URevolution LAAAAAAAAADY Here is this bear who is very bad on preventing shoplifting and knows that tshirts have 20% discount. It's alternate title is "Are you flirting with me?"

I've mostly been drawing this character (which I've taken to calling Iris) in my journal when I feel like doodling or when there's a blank space that's making my brain itch. That said, sometimes as I wander by the whiteboard I set up for an old RP campaign, I'll make a quick doodle on it. Usually I just erase the old one and add a new one, but this time I've been letting them stay, and so they're kinda accumulating. I realized this morning that the whiteboard was actually full of sharable drawings, so I figured I'd snap it real fast and share with you what I've been drawing. I'd love to say I'm really pushing the poses here, but then I'd be a damn liar, so I won't. XD
