kinda wish I could live through the procedure of an autopsy. yeah yeah shut up I know its AFTER death. but could you imagine?
gloved hands inspecting your skin, a cold marker skipping beats on your skin as they mark where to cut, what to remove, etc.
for the most part, your brain numbs how bad injuries really are if you can't see it to process the damage, right? or atleast vaguely to some extent. obviously you'd feel a scalpel pushing cleanly through layers of skin, fat and then into your muscles n tissue.
but how well would you feel it if you're drugged? if your attention is drawn to other sensations against other parts of your body? if your nose and ears were distracted with.. maybe things you like. a smell you enjoy, music you play for hours, whatever. what if we could find a way to numb that? what if we didn't? would you cry? scream? would you even be able to?
how would it feel to have the sterile air against your organs? to be open? to feel the mortician cut off access to your organs and examine them? what if they purposely inspected them infront of you and spoke aloud while taking notes? hows the drowsiness and nausea of having your body drained of its internal usefullness? the whole embalming process?
hfffh.
