Beautiful Lie
My heart still cries,
When the night approaches.
Sometimes it hits,
When my time is coming.
When I must awake to another day,
Having to shine whether I want to or not.
Why does my heart still call out for yours,
When I know you’re not coming back.
Heart, you’re a fool for sure.
We fell for empty words,
And a handsome face.
Whose heart and mind,
Seemed as familiar and hungry as mine.
Only to be tasted and cast astray.
Broken promises and lies,
Patterns finally showing,
He was just another beautiful lie.
