m'ama o non m'ama è una lama, non devi usarla mai
sento il mio cuore che si dilania.
Inktober 31.18: “Slice.” “That really was a Hattori Hanzo sword.” That’s it for Inktober. I kind of felt like I was limping across the finish line this last week, but I got there. And as usual, I learned a lot. Thanks to all who checked out my posts, or gave me a Like or commented (or just tolerated all my posts, I guess?). . . . #inktober #inktober2018 #killbill #umathurman #beatrixkiddo #deadlyviperassassinationsquad #quentintarantino #taratinober https://www.instagram.com/p/BpoE8TVBhRI/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1e0r8dnb4rchr

STRONG FEMALE LEADS
I grew up with strong woman, my mother and my grandmother... as a kid it was weird seeing to many defenseless woman in movies or tv in general, it was even weirder seeing defenseless woman in reality, it was confusing times, because I knew they could do to many things but instead they used to ask for help, to this day is still confusing why men and woman have different roles in public spaces, I remember being in a kid's party with mostly boys, the boys were allowed to run, get on the walls, and basically be all covered in dirt, while the girls were all next to her moms, I remember a girl playing with me and the boys, we jumped a fence and came back panting and laughing just to presence an humilliating scene, La Tia... the lady hosting the party for his kid, her aunt, grabbed her by the arm and started to scold her while complaining to the rest of the lady's telling things like she has no manners and that her mum didn't give her or her sister enough attention because she worked all day, all this while she seated the girl in a chair next to her, I was there just waiting because I thought we all eventually will have our share of scolds for jumping the fence, but no, I said to my mom that I was sorry, and the Lady host told me with a smile, "no pasa nada vallase a jugar con los niños" (it's okay go and play with the boys) I remember be standing there looking at the ladies and then my mom, and my mom told me it was okay and to go out, and I mouthed something like "what about her" and she mouthed back to me that I should not worry that it was okay, of course it was, as a good teacher she approached the girl and start talking to her and comfort her, kinda protecting her from the words and looks from the rest of the ladies.
My mom was respected in that environment but the ladies were always asking why my father wasn't around and how hard should be to her to raise me without a man around, I'm sure it was hard but she never complained.
Another scene, the same party, it was already night and a huge rat enters the house running through the ladies dresses (my mom of course was in pants, a fabulous *with dancing legs while walking pants* and she used to rock those) well to the point: all the people in the room started screaming and jumping (I was too) I climbed the tallest cabinet there and all the other kids were in top of the couches chairs etc, all the grown man were outside drinking beer next to a truck with rancheras and stuff, acting manly, laughing and stuff, and my mom, haha oh my mom!, grabbed a broom and asked the lady if it was okay and put it in a stair and broke it hahaha, I was there petrified by the looks of that huge monster running to one side and then another while we were all screaming, then the rat ran to a corner and my mom attacked, the rat attacked too, then my mom with one leg moved a small cabinet and trapped the rat in the corner and kill it with the pointy side of the broom stick, then she pulled it by the tail asking for a bag, I'm sure she was enjoying it, then another lady enter the room afraid with some of the men all of them just standing there looking at my mom and the rat, a lady passed a bag to my mom, my mom put the rat in it and passes the bag to the husband of the lady host and smiled, he took it with disgust and went outside to put it in the trash... just to put context in this, that man was a cop, a buffed one or at least he used to look like it, intimidating stare, walking with shoulders up, and later to know wife beater, who had to flee with his family because he killed someone... and my mom went once to talk to him because he used to hit the party boy who happened to be her student, and made him cry, yup my mom made a cop connect with his emotions and cry because of his actions, how I know?, I was there "de metiche" waiting for my mom with the boy and his brother in the back window.
And that's among a lot of things like that is what I want to answer every fucking time someone ask me why I like so much Beatrix Kiddo, Princess Leia, Storm, Catwoman and recently THE Wonder Woman (I even watched with my mom and she was all excited) or another strong female lead, and why I used to choose females in the video games and I why I always like movies with strong female characters who to other men seem absurd, that's why ladies and gentlemen...
IT'S ALL BECAUSE I GROW UP WITH TWO OF THE STRONGEST FEMALE LEADS EVER.
