Nine Mornings is a tradition found in St. Vincent and the Grenadines that is associated with the Christmas season. It consists of nine days of festivities—December 16 thru December 24—leading up to Christmas Day. During these nine days, activities begin at 4am. Some people attend church services, while others go to the beach, or attend early-morning fêtes. In contemporary St. Vincent, Nine Mornings is celebrated with a nine-day, organized festival that takes place in the capital, Kingstown. The origins of Nine Mornings have been debated.
