I'm going to throw this out into the Tumblr universe, as someone who's been reading Batman fanfiction but last read the comics in the 90s: does anyone have, like, an Essential Red Hood Reading List?
Okay, from the top. There was a reboot that happened a couple years after Terra's death (Crisis on Infinite Earths), but that didn't affect her passing any, just the details of one particular fight between Slade and Changeling (Beast Boy). So in the early 90s, it seemed she had come back from the dead, but it was a girl from a possible future who had been injected with her DNA, this version of Terra was called Terra II, these days she's referred to as the doppleganger. She was who the OG Terra seemed to be. Then there was a continuity reboot (Zero Hour) and it was implied that she WAS the OG with a memory wipe. She visited the grave of the OG and it was empty, she freaked out. She didn't wanna be the monster. Then she died fighting Black Adam, as a genuine hero the OG never was. They buried her in Markovia, cuz Geo Force certainly considered her to be his sister. Then the OG came back as a Black Lantern zombie as you heard about. She fought Changeling, then later Geo Force turned her to stone. Then they tried to bring in a new girl to be Terra, a brunette called Atlee. She was from this weird underground kingdom and stuff. She confirmed to Geo Force that the Terra II/doppleganger had been one of her people, and had, as originally stated, been incjected with the OG's DNA. Atlee didn't really "stick" with the fans. Then there was another continuity reboot (New 52) and Terra never died, she and Changeling escaped from this super powered prison camp, and became part of a team called the Ravagers. Terra had long shaggy hair with braids and a weird Tron Legacy style outfit, Changeling was red. They were happy together for a while. Then she got abducted by Slade, was forced to help him fight, and dissapeared.
Another continuity reboot (Rebirth) essentially restored her original story, except she never died and just became a recurring Titans enemy. Slade recruited her for a mercenary for hire team called Defiance, that lasted a little while. Now Slade has recruited her again, for his current villain team to fight the Titans with. That's where we're at now. Finally, there was a multiverse/elseworlds story called Teen Titans Earth One, a weird AU where Terra is in a relationship with Cyborg, and that's the least weird thing about that story. If you need images of any/all of this let met know.
Thanks for the answer
@thearcalian
And just as I suspected, DC has confusing lore once again. Seriously, just let Terra stay dead.
I mean, I'm happy she's not dead, but... it kind of ruins the ending of Judas contract for me.
Cool to know there are two Terras now though.
Again, thanks for the info, mate.
mumble mumble stupid contradictory comics timelines mumble mumble why did I decide that needed to try and construct a timeline that made sense from all of this mumble mumble
DC has multiple ice-themed villains and multiple cat-themed villains, so hear me out: a villain who is both and goes by Cool Cat
Independence. Authority. Style.
