❝ my father always says that we should act like we’re nobles or something along those lines, and all i think of when he says that is attending a dinner party when i was little and having to be as classy and well-mannered as possible. it wasn’t hard, considering it was me, but i knew i was only supposed to be nice because father wanted something out of them. it makes me uneasy remembering that they were likely only nice to me because they wanted something from my father, too. ❞
