sometimes i ask myself “am i man?” because i relate to so many male characers and i keep concluding that no i just tend to relate to fictional men more often than fictional women because of the unmarked way that manhood is treated in fiction vs the very marked way that womanhood is treated so that a man’s gender can be irrelevant to his story whereas a woman’s almost never is and i as an agender person feel most comfortable relating to binary-gendered characters when their gender is not drawn attention to by the narrative
