Annie was already forming a game plan when she sulked back to the table.
“You owe Ruby an apology,” Sam said firmly.
“Sorry, Ruby,” she whispered, not meaning a word of it, and Ruby knew it too the way her eyes glittered with malice.
“Let’s just enjoy our meal, shall we?” she said cooly and Annie knew the war had just begun.
The rest of the meal was endless. Sam would try to draw Annie into the conversation, but she would reply with a one-word answer. Ruby pretty much ignored her, focusing all her attention on Sam.
This is so gross! She is so fake! How is my dad falling for this crap?
Annie was counting the minutes until they could go home and she could call Mary. After what seemed like an eternity Sam paid the bill and they got up to leave.
“Are you ready to go, Mary?” he asked finally.
I’ve been ready since we got here. Annie thought to herself.
“It was great to finally meet you, Mary,” Ruby said with a mocking smile that spoke volumes.
“Yeah, you too.” Annie countered, knowing the battle lines had just been drawn.
“I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of each other,” Ruby added, and Annie snorted. Not if I have anything to say about it.
“Can we go, Dad? I’m tired,” she asked, and Sam nodded. The three of them exited the restaurant together.
“Mary’s had a long day. I’d better get her home.” Sam told Ruby, who nodded slightly. He leaned down to kiss her goodbye.
Ruby, knowing full well Annie was watching, flung her arms around Sam and pulled him down for an extra passionate kiss. When she finally let go, he swayed dizzily, and she shot Annie a triumphant grin.
“Come ON, Dad, “ Annie snapped, rolling her eyes as she grabbed his arm and started pulling him towards the car.
“Well, that could have gone better,” Sam said ruefully as he looked sideways at Annie.
Annie glared back at him. “How long?” she demanded tersely.
“How long what?” Sam asked.
“How long have you been seeing her, Dad?”
“Mary, I…..” Sam began to explain.
“HOW LONG!” Annie yelled, and Sam flinched.
“About six months.” he finally admitted.
For a moment, Annie forgot she didn’t even know he existed six months ago and took on Mary’s betrayal as her own. Her eyes welled with tears.
“So you have been seeing this woman for six months and I am only meeting her now and you are engaged? Is she pregnant?”
Sam looked surprised. “What? No, she’s not pregnant! Why would you ask that? What is going on with you? I don’t know what they taught you at this camp, but I don’t like it, not one bit!”
“You mean you noticed I was gone? You weren’t too busy planning your new life with your fiancee? She plans on getting me out of the way, you know that, right?” Annie wiped her eyes furiously.
Sam gave a harsh laugh as he pulled into their driveway. “You think Ruby is going to kill you?” he said incredulously.
“No Dad, but I’d rather be dead than shipped off to boarding school,” Annie told him bitterly. As soon as the car came to a stop, she jumped out and flew into the house.
“Mary, wait!” Sam called, but she was already gone. Dean and Donna were talking in the kitchen when Sam entered, and they both looked at him expectantly.
“How’d it go?” Dean asked.
“I need a drink,” Sam answered as he stalked from the room.
Dean and Donna exchanged a look. “That good, huh?” Donna commented, trying not to smile.
Annie entered her room and changed her clothes quickly. She grabbed her phone and looking around warily, opened her closet door and got inside, closing the door behind her. She quickly dialed Mary’s number. It rang once.
“Hello?” Mary said breathlessly.
“It’s me.”
“Tell me everything! I have been dying here!” Mary said dramatically.
Annie sighed, suddenly exhausted. She couldn’t believe it was still her first day. “So Dad and Uncle Dean picked me up at the airport, and Dad says he’s been seeing someone, and that we were going out to dinner tonight so I could meet her.”
“That seems fast,” Mary commented.
“Oh wait, it gets better. He’s been seeing her for SIX MONTHS! Did you have any idea?” Annie asked.
Mary was quiet for so long Annie thought she had hung up. “Mary? Are you still there?”
“Six months? No, I had no idea. He works late a lot. So tell me about dinner. How is Uncle Dean? And Donna? And how is my Juliet?”
“You didn’t warn me Uncle Dean was so gorgeous! And his car! Donna really missed you. Juliet hates me, she won’t come near me. I don’t know how much time I have, so let’s talk about the dinner.” Annie insisted, trying to get the conversation back on track.
“Okay, sorry.”
“Donna said Ruby was a golddigger. She is way to young for him. I’m a little more...um…..outspoken than you are, and we butted heads right away. Dad’s not happy with me. Ruby shoves her hand in my face with this obnoxious diamond and blurts out that they are engaged. I just about lost it.” Annie’s blood pressure was rising just thinking about it.
“NO!” Mary said in shock.
“Yep! I bolted for the bathroom, and Ruby was there when I came out. She said this wedding is happening, and I can get on board, or she is shipping me off to boarding school. Can you believe her?” Annie snorted.
“You have to stop this,” Mary said sincerely.
“No, Mary, WE have to stop this. YOU need to get out here. I don’t think I can do it alone. Change of plans. You have to tell Mom who you are, and get her to bring you back here. You should have seen it. Ruby knew I was watching, so she gave Dad this super gross kiss with tongue and everything, and he barely knew his name. I need you.” Annie finished talking and waited for Mary to respond.
“I haven’t even had a full day with Mom, and you want me to tell her everything already? Can’t you handle it for a bit? Please, Annie?”
Annie heard the naked longing in her sister’s voice, and she melted. “I suppose we can hold off for a bit. They are only engaged. Weddings take ages to plan. How’s Mom?”
“She is wonderful! She’s a great cook, and we have so much to talk about. New York is fascinating. Oh, and your friend Carlos is….he is nice.” Mary said clumsily.
Interesting. Was Mary interested in Carlos? “Yeah, Carlos is great.
Mary yawned. “It’s really late here. I’ve got to get some sleep. Please keep me posted. I miss you already, twin.”
Annie smiled in the dark of her closet. “I miss you too, twin.”
Annie did her best to let Mary have time with their mother. So while Mary was exploring New York with her mother, Annie was dealing with Ruby constantly showing up at the house. She was already talking about redecorating the house. Dean had to referee an argument between Donna and Ruby that almost came to blows when Ruby kept referring to her as “the help”.
Donna got right in the smaller woman’s face, and she didn’t mince her words. “I swear to god, Ruby, if you call me ‘the help’ one more time, you will be needing to get your nose job redone.”
“The first thing I am doing after we are married is firing you,” Ruby said with a sneer.
Donna cursed and launched herself in Ruby’s direction. Before she got anywhere, Dean grabbed her around the waist and dragged her from the room. “Enough, Donna!”
Annie watched with wide eyes, but still, she didn’t tell Mary.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Annie was eavesdropping while Ruby was on the phone in Sam’s office. “I think I have him almost talked into eloping, Mom. Sometime within the next few weeks, hopefully. Mary? As soon as we are married, I am shipping her off to a boarding school in the Swiss Alps., the sooner the better. I hate kids!”
Annie flew to the phone to call Mary as fast as she could.
Mary
Mary took a deep breath outside her mother’s bedroom door. The bubble she had been living in with you was about to break, but it had to be done. She knocked softly on the door.
“Come in,” you said softly.
“Can I talk to you?” Mary asked, sitting on the edge of your bed. You put aside the book you were reading and looked at her. “Is everything okay, honey?”
“No, it’s not, Mom. I don’t know how to tell you this, so I’m just going to say it. I’m not Annie, I’m Mary.”
Every ounce of color drained from your face. “Mary? What...how?”
“Annie and I met at camp. When we realized we were twins, we decided to switch places so I could meet you and Annie could meet Dad. I just wanted to know my mother.” Mary finished in a whisper.
“Oh my god, Mary!” you pulled her into your arms, hugging her and crying. Taking her face between your hands, you examined it. “You look so much like Annie. Wait, so Annie is in California, with Sam?”
“Yeah. And here’s the thing. Dad has this horrible new fiancee, Ruby. She is a demon, and she hates Annie. Annie says they are going to elope, and Ruby told her as soon as they are married, she is shipping her off to boarding school in Switzerland. We have to help her.” Mary said earnestly.
“Honey, I gave up my custody rights when we got divorced,” you said sadly.
“You gave up your rights to me. But I’m here. You need to take me back to California before Annie ends up in Switzerland. Please, Mom. You have to do something. He can’t marry this woman. I think he still loves you. I’ve seen him crying over your picture when he didn’t know I was there.”
You sat for a moment, processing all of this information. Then you quickly made up your mind. Turning to Mary, you smiled gently and said, “you’d better go and pack, I’ll see what I can do about getting us flights.” Mary nodded and left you alone. Grabbing your phone off the nightstand, you dialed a number you hadn’t called in a very long time.
“Dean? It’s Y/N. I know we haven’t talked in a really long time, but I need your help.”

Introduction:
Everyone in Lawrence thinks they know my story.
Back in high school, I had it all. I was a cheerleader, I was popular, and I was dating the captain of the football team. All those mean girls you loved to hate were my best friends. My life was perfect, right?
Not exactly. I wasn’t your typical cheerleader, for lots of reasons.
But Karma has a way of biting you in the ass. I alienated all of my real friends in my quest for popularity. One by one I pushed them away until only my oldest friend and neighbor Dean was still even speaking to me.
Then came the night of the prom, when everything changed.
Almost immediately, rumors began to fly and my perfectly crafted world began to crumble. By graduation, I was the butt of everyone’s joke: the pregnant cheerleader. The ink was barely dry on my diploma when I left town, and I haven’t been back since.
Until she called. “Y/N, I have cancer. It’s bad. They say I have six months. I want to see her before I die.”
“We’ll be on the next plane out,” I promised her.
They think they know my story. They don’t know ANYTHING.
This fic was written for Beka @impala-dreamer Tell Me a Me Story Drabble Challenge. My prompt was #27, “I’m so happy right now I could vomit.” “Sweet.”
Characters: Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Beka, Hope the waitress
If it hadn’t been for the fact that Dean could hear Beka’s stomach growling from the back seat, he probably would have kept on driving. Everyone was raw over losing those kids, and putting as much mileage between them and that clusterfuck seemed like a good idea.
“Why are we stopping?” Sam asked in a voice blank with exhaustion.
“Food,” Dean commented simply, not looking at either of them.
“We are really low on cash right now,” Beka commented as she saw the diner Dean had pulled into.
“Then don’t come,” was his snarky response as he slammed the door and Sam followed. Muttering something that sounded suspiciously like “asshole”, Beka followed the boys, running to catch up.
The place was deserted. Dean had grabbed a window booth so he could keep an eye on his baby. A waitress came over and handed them glasses of water. “Got any specials today?” Dean asked her conversationally.
She smiled pleasantly. Her name tag said “HOPE” in large block letters. “Are you kidding? It’s Thanksgiving. We’ve got a dinner better than what your Mama makes, lemme tell ya.”
“So that’s why it’s so empty,” Sam mused.
Hope looked over at him. “You didn’t realize it was Thanksgiving, honey?”
Sam blushed a little and looked away. “We’ve been busy with work.”
“Tell ya what. You three have been my only customers in ages, so how about three Thanksgiving dinners on the house? You look like you need it. Jacob’s pumpkin pie will make ya cry, it’s that good.” She gazed at the three expectantly.
“What’s the catch?” Beka asked suspiciously.
“No catch, hon. Just paying it forward. You do something nice for someone someday, and we’ll call it even, okay?” Hope winked at Beka and scurried off to the kitchen.
She returned a few minutes later with plates heavily ladened with an incredible Thanksgiving spread. Sam and Dean demolished their food as though they were starving. Beka had to mediate a near fistfight over the last roll. Even she had to admit this was one of the best meals she had ever eaten.
“This stuffing tastes just like my Mom’s,” Beka said, almost to herself.
When Hope brought out slices of pumpkin pie with whipped cream and coffee, and Dean groaned with pleasure.
“Aren’t you happy I made us stop?” He asked Beka with a pie-covered smile.
I’m so happy right now I could vomit.” Beka said with a grin. “I will burst if I eat another bite.”
“Me too.” Sam agreed.
“Sweet,” Dean said happily. “But I think we should hit the road.”
They tried to tip the waitress but she refused, saying they were going to close for the night. The three hunters piled back into the Impala, stomachs full, faith in humanity restored, and ready to fight another day.
When the Impala was out of sight, the diner disappeared as though it had never existed. Hope morphed into Chuck, who was happy he could answer this one prayer. “Thanks, guys.” He said before he too vanished.

“It’s only a damn date!” I keep telling myself in an effort to not break down completely from the stress of it all. The entire contents of my closet had puked their way onto my bed, and I couldn’t find anything. This was not going well, and I was getting frazzled.
When my cell rang I had to run in from the depths of my closet to answer it, and I sounded out of breath.”Hello?”
“Hey Y/N, it’s Terri. Are you okay? Why do you sound so out of breath?”
I grinned at the phone. It is so like my big sis to check up on me. “Dean’s taking me on our first date tonight, and I want it to be perfect.”
“Is he now?” Terri said in an amused voice. “Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?”
“Shut it. As untraditional as this is, we are trying to make this work, so be supportive.”
“Have you picked out an outfit to wear?” She questioned.
I snorted at the pile of clothes spread all over my room and hung my head. “No….not really. Can you come help?”
“Now you’re speaking my language, girl! If I can help move this bizarre love train along the track, I’m on it. I’ll be over in a few minutes.”
“Thanks, Ter. I knew I could count on you.”
Terri arrived and immediately set to work cleaning up the mess on my bed. “So show me what you have so far. This place is a mess. How can you still be as sloppy as you were when you were twelve?”
“I’m stressed, T. I hate every piece of clothing I own, and I don’t have the energy to go shopping. Dean said to wear something “nice”. What does that mean exactly?” My voice was edging higher with panic.
“Relax. Breathe. We got this. You want to look pretty but not like your trying to hard. So where are you going anyway?”
I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t even know. He didn’t say.”
“I gotta admit, Y/N, as much as I was prepared to hate him just on principle, that boy is clearly crazy about you. Seal the deal now before he realizes just how high maintenance you are.”
“Bitch,” I said half-heartedly, but I was smiling.
My sister laughed as she disappeared into my closet. Then I heard her rummaging around for a bit. “I found it!” She said a moment later.
Terri walked out with a blue silk shirt dress that I completely forgot I owned. “This will do nicely.” She commented.
I gave it an appraising glance. “Are you sure?”
Rolling her eyes, Terri handed me the dress. “Yes, I’m sure. The color is a good one for you, the silk makes it a little fancy, and most important, it opens in the front for easy access.”
“I think I bought matching shoes for this. Lemme look.” I marched into my closet and pulled a white shoebox from the top shelf. A cascade of boxes and purses came raining down on my head and I swore.
Handing the box to Terri, I sat down on my bed and rubbed the top of my head. “Just for the record, Dean and I don’t spend every minute having sex. We do talk.”
“Oh I’m sure you do,” she told me as she picked out my jewelry. “But when Dean sees you, he’s gonna be thinking with his downstairs Alpha brain. Less talk, more action.”
It was almost seven, and I waited anxiously for Dean’s arrival. Terri had left an hour ago, saying her work here was done and she expected some details later as payback.
As soon as I heard the knock, I was on my feet in an instant, practically running to the door. “You look…...wow,” Dean exclaimed immediately as soon as he saw me. He looked gorgeous in a tan jacket and dark slacks, and when our eyes met, I felt the sizzle of his hot gaze down to my toes. “These are for you,” he said as he handed me a bouquet of wildflowers.
“They are beautiful.” I sniffed the delicate blooms appreciatively, “These are my favorite! How did you know?”
“They smelled like you.”
My cheeks colored at his comment. “Let me just put these in some water.”
“How are you feeling?” he asked, and I was suddenly worried that every conversation was now going to revolve around my health. I’d been down this road before.
“This is only our first date, big boy. I think the health questions come later,” I replied with a smirk.
“I’m being serious, Y/N,” Dean said quietly.
My smile faded, and I sighed deeply. “I’m okay at the moment. Whatever they gave me in the hospital seems to have stopped my heat for now. So how did things go with Sam?” I asked, eager to change the subject.
“Surprisingly good. He can’t wait to meet you.” Dean looked at his watch. “Hey, we need to go or we’re gonna miss our reservation.”
“We have reservations? You really brought your A game didn’t you?”
The cocky smile he gave me reminded me of the first night we’d met. “When it comes to you, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
The restaurant Dean picked was a little Italian place that smelled amazing. Within a few minutes, we were seated in a cozy alcove and the waiter had brought us both glasses of a heady red wine. I laughed out loud at something Dean said, the conversation flowing naturally and easy between us as we perused our menus.
I happened to glance up from my menu and I noticed Dean’s eyes on me. His expression was soft and warm. “What?” I asked with a smile.
“I’ve dreamed about doing this with you since I met you,” he told me, an adorably bashful grin on his face.
“This?” I questioned, mirroring his smile.
“Going on a date, doing normal couple stuff.” Dean paused, his eyes darkening, darting around the room before focusing on me. “I want everyone to know your mine.”
As I started into his handsome face, I could feel my heart beat a little faster. I licked my lips deliberately, eyes on him the whole time. “Buy me dinner first, Alpha, and I’ll show you later how much I’m yours.”
Dean groaned softly, reaching out to take my hand as he scolded me playfully. “You need to stop that, Omega, or we’ll never make it to dinner.”
“But I’m very hungry.” I knew I was pushing my luck, but I was in a teasing mood.
“So am I. And we’re eating,” he said firmly, squirming a bit in his seat - I couldn’t hide my grin at the effect I knew I was having on him but before I could take the game any further, the waiter returned to our table with a basket of complimentary bread and pulled out his notepad.
We gave our order and Dean quickly took the opportunity to change the subject, aiming for more traditional “first date” questions, keeping the topic away from the things we already knew about each other. It kept going throughout the meal and I was pleasantly surprised that he was such an interesting and intelligent man.
It dispelled any notion that he was just a dumb caveman Alpha with only one thing on his mind.
I sat back in the booth, dropping my fork onto my plate. “I can’t eat another bite. I’m stuffed.”
Dean chuckled, running a last crust of the bread around his plate, collecting his steak sauce. “So no dessert then?”
I shook my head with a fond smile, watching him pop the last morsel between his plump lips and it prompting an unbidden groan. “If I eat dessert you won’t be getting any tonight,” I warned.
“What about to go?” he suggested. “You really gotta try the fudge cake here.” Dropping his voice and leaning in, a lewd smile spread over his lips. “We could always eat it in bed later.”
The thought of Dean feeding me cake in bed was kind of a turn on, to be honest. but I knew we wouldn’t be eating in bed. But the thought of missing out on that fudge cake…
Two foil swans later, we were about to leave, just as another couple was being seated next to us. The woman stared at Dean, catching my attention with her intense look and I frowned, just as Dean noticed her and his face drained of color.
The woman said something to her companion and walked over to us. “Dean?” she purred, reaching out to touch his arm. He jerked it away as though her touch burned.
“Hey, Lisa,” he said in a tight voice.
“I was wondering what happened to you. They wouldn’t tell me anything when I called. Just that you left. I’ve missed you.” Dean looked so uncomfortable, like a trapped animal. I was confused for a moment. Who was she?
“Dean?” I asked tentatively. His eyes came up to meet mine, and they were filled with such pain. And then it hit me who she was. This woman…..this Lisa, was one of Dean’s Omega clients from Alpha4.
“He’s retired,” I snapped angrily. “Just leave us alone, please.”
“But I need….” she began to say in a desperate voice. Oh, I knew what she needed.
And just like that, our perfect first date was ruined as reality reared its ugly head. “Come, on. We’re leaving.”I told Dean as I turned my back on that Omega who could have been me and walked away head held high as the tears began to flow.
A/N: This story is a Marvel/Supernatural crossover and a collaboration between me and my wondertwin @kittenofdoomage She’s been a saint because I know I have driving her NUTS with this story but I am just obsessed. It’s happened to all of us.
Two Years Earlier
This was supposed to be a milk run. On the way back from another case, Sam had caught wind of a few deaths that sounded demonic so they had stopped to check it out. He and Dean had both taken some hard hits during their last case. Sam had cut his hand pretty badly, and Dean had messed up his shoulder. They really weren’t in fighting shape, though they would never admit it.
Two demons had Sam’s arms pinned behind his back, and one of then had jammed Ruby’s blade against his neck. Another demon had Dean jacked up against the wall, slowly cutting off his air supply as he struggled and flailed in an effort to get free.
“Let them go.” a soft voice said. Everyone turned to see who had spoken. A young woman stood there, alone and weaponless.
“Get out of here!” Sam yelled. “They’re demons!”
The woman rolled her eyes at him. “I KNOW that Stretch, thanks for the newsflash.”
The demon holding Dean dropped him suddenly, and he fell to the floor with a hard “Uumph.”
“You must have a death wish, little one,” he said as he began to advance towards her.
A grin tugged at her lips. “I really wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
The demons closed in on the girl, as Sam struggled to break free of his captors. Dean was already on his feet. The demons had almost reached her, when a strong wind began to kick up in the room, whipping the girl’s hair around her head like angry snakes.
“I’d get down if I were you two,” she yelled to Sam and Dean over the sound of the wind. Her eyes began to glow with a bluish light and she held her hands out in front of her. It was as if she pulled lightning out of the ceiling, throwing it at the demons and instantly frying them.
Sam and Dean dropped to their knees, covering their heads as the smell of burning flesh and the sizzle of ozone filled the air. When they looked up, all the demons were dead; the girl put her hands down and her eyes gradually returned to normal.
“Are you okay?” she asked, running over to them.
Dean flinched away from her. “Are you a witch?”
“What? No! I’m not a witch!” she replied quickly, frowning. “I’m a hunter.”
Sam smiled gently at her. “I’m Sam, this is my brother Dean. We’re hunters too. What’s your name and how do you do that?”
“I’m Y/N. I’ve always been able to do this, so I can’t really answer that, sorry. Do you guys want to discuss this somewhere else? Somewhere less demon-y?”
You crossed paths a few more times with the Winchesters, saving their asses again when a pair of ghouls were eating their way through a town in Mississippi, and later helping them save a tiny hamlet in Texas that was being held hostage by a pack of bloodthirsty vampires.
After Texas, Sam and Dean invited you to come back to their bunker to hang out. “You have a bunker?” You said with surprise. “Are you guys survivalists or something?”
Dean rolled his eyes. “It’s not THAT kind of bunker, Y/N. It’s not buried underground!”
Sam explained the whole Men of Letters deal and how they had commandeered the bunker.
“It’s our Batcave,” Dean said with a smirk.
“We work well together, Y/N. We make a good team.” Sam commented, staring at you long enough to make you flush a little.
“This I gotta see. I’m in.”
Despite promising yourself you wouldn’t stick with them for long, things with the Winchesters were more lively than you’d imagined. The bunker they’d told you about was a treasure trove of information and relics and it was less than a day before you were bonding with Sam over a love of books and history.
Friendship turned into something else and eventually, weeks dissolved into months. You admitted to yourself that you’d fallen in love with Sam and it was unlikely you’d be going anywhere soon. He was passionate and kind and brave and endlessly curious about your powers, which was kind of adorable.
“Can anyone else in your family do what you do?” he asked you one day when you were reading in the library.
You looked up and shrugged. “I don’t know. I grew up in foster care. I know nothing about my birth parents.”
“Well, I think your zappy-thing is awesome!” Dean said enthusiastically, shoveling a candy into his mouth as he walked into the room.
Sam snorted, leaning back in his chair. “Sure you do. Weren’t you the one who thought she was a witch when we first met?”
“Shut up!” Dean scowled, folding his arms over his chest. “She’s proved she is definitely an asset. She can kick YOUR ass, Gigantor.”
“She can kick yours too, Dean. And I’m her boyfriend, so I think my ass is safe.” Sam snapped back.
“Guys….” You tried to intervene, but they were on a roll.
Dean rolled his eyes towards the ceiling. “Just because she is sleeping with you….”
“GUYS….” You said louder. They ignored you as they tried to talk over each other.
Your eyes had begun to glow as papers began to blow around the room. Then Castiel teleported into the bunker, and you were so happy to see the angel you instantly calmed down. “Turn on the television,” he growled. “Now.”
“Cas, what’s wrong?”
“Aliens have invaded New York City.”
You, the Winchesters, and Castiel sat in front of the TV in disbelief watching the coverage of the “Battle of New York” and its aftermath. Buildings destroyed, thousands of lives endangered, hundreds dead… it was horrific.
Dean seemed more intent on focusing on one aspect of the reports. “Seriously? Aliens are real? With all the shit that we have dealt with, why haven’t we ever come across one?” He looked at Sam, who shrugged and held his hands up.
“There was that one time,” he offered, “but it turned out to be fairies.”
“I have never seen a creature like the Hulk before. He seems very angry,” Cas observed, frowning at the screen.
“What about Tony Stark? Now there’s a genius! He actually built that suit.” You could tell by the tone of his voice that Sam was impressed. “I mean, we’ve all heard about it but we never thought it was an actual thing.”
“Did you see Captain America? What a soldier! I used to love his comic books when I was a kid.” Dean had a far-away look in his eye as he watched the reports and you recognized it as hero-worship. He was suddenly 9 years old again, a goofy little kid and it just made you wanna pinch his cheeks.
On the screen, New York was in pieces. You’d never been to the Big Apple and now… aliens? It seemed unbelievable, despite your own abilities. And superheroes with powers you’d never seen.
“People are never going to leave them alone now. The entire world knows what they can do,” you whispered. You always did your best to only use your powers in public when absolutely necessary, and you tried to never let anyone capture you on film doing it - it was a can of worms you never wanted opened.
“You could be an Avenger, Y/N. You are very powerful,” Cas murmured gravely, not taking his eyes off of the television screen.
You laughed, waving him off like he’d told the funniest joke ever. “I am happy hunting monsters with you guys,” you informed him, leaning back and picking up your soda. “Let’s leave the aliens for the superheroes, okay?”

Introduction (all parts are linked)
The last thing I wanted was a bachelorette party. I had no desire to run around town with my drunken bridesmaids and pretend that I was having fun and this was a normal wedding. My father could make me marry Eric, but he couldn’t make me happy about it.
So that was why Steph, Eric’s sister Kerry, and my two other bridesmaids Natalie and Morgan were drinking margaritas at Costello’s on a Friday night. Costello’s was a popular hangout in the center of town, and I know Kerry picked it because everyone was sure to see us there. My Dad’s idea I’m sure.
So here I sat dressed in a ridiculous plastic tiara and cheap veil, with a huge pin on my chest that said, “Bride-to-Be.” Steph as Maid of Honor had been in charge of planning this night, and it had taken FOREVER for us to come up with a night that fit everyone’s schedule.
Steph, Nat, Morgan, and Kerry were each several drinks in and were now on the dance floor getting down. I’d had several and was pretty drunk, but all the drinks had done was make me depressed. I felt like a death row inmate being slowly marched to her execution. And the chair was getting closer and closer……
I turned from the bar to head for the bathroom and immediately plowed into someone’s chest so hard it almost knocked me to the floor. A pair of well-muscled arms grabbed me to keep me from falling. I started to thank the person, but when I caught a whiff of his scent, my voice died on my lips.
My body immediately reacted. Even after 10 years, I would know his scent anywhere. I would never forget it as long as I lived. It took every ounce of willpower I had to remain calm and not run in the other direction.
“I always knew you’d make a beautiful bride,” Sam said with a smirk.
I grabbed the cheesy tiara and yanked it off my head. “”Shut up! I look ridiculous and you know it! They forced me to wear this. I didn’t want any of this.” When I finally was able to look him in the eye, I saw his kaleidoscope eyes were burning as he looked at me. He was in full Alpha mode.
“So who is the lucky guy?” He asked.
I sighed. I so did not want to have this conversation with him. “His name is Eric. His father is Alpha of the Whitehall Pack.”
“Oh really?” Sam said in a neutral voice. How convenient. So you marrying this Eric will surely help your Dad keep peace with the Whitehall pack. There’s been bad blood between the packs for years, hasn’t there?”
“I shouldn’t be talking to you about this,” I said quietly. I looked over at the dance floor. The girls were still dancing. “I shouldn’t be talking to you at all.”
“Why not?” Sam asked eyebrow raised. “We’re old friends. Can’t I buy you a drink to celebrate your impending nuptials?”
“Old friends, is that what we are?” I snorted.
“It’s simpler than “The guy who your father ran out of town”, isn’t it?” Sam said mockingly. “Now, how about that drink?” He said.
“I guess so. One drink. I have to be careful.” I said cautiously.
“Of what?” He asked curiously.
“I don’t want word to get back to my father or uncle that I was with you,” I said nervously.
“Still letting Daddy run your life, I see,” Sam commented as he drank his beer.
“Why did you come back, Sam?” I asked tersely.
I got a job in the DA’s office. I bought the old Fitzgerald house with my brother. He’s a cop now, a detective.”
“You could have gotten a job anywhere. But why here? Why now?” I said irritably.
Sam didn’t say anything for a moment, just looked at me, his hot gaze burning into me until I began to squirm uncomfortably. He smelled so good it was making my mouth water.
He answered my question with a question. “Do you love him, Y/N?”
I couldn’t seem to tear my eyes away from his. “Of course not. My father is making me marry him.”
“So then there’s still time,” Sam whispered.
“Time for what?” I asked.
“Time for me to show you that you should be mine.”
I looked at him in astonishment. “Are you insane? I am getting married in 3 weeks! My father will KILL you if you try anything. Thanks for the drink, Sam. It was good to see you.” I picked up my tiara from the chair and headed off in search of my friends.
I joined my friends on the dance floor, pretending all the while that I didn’t feel Sam’s eyes watching every move I made.
Steph and I went to the bathroom together, and once she made sure we were alone, she whispered to me, “Alright, spill it! I saw you talking to Sam Winchester. Do you have a death wish, Y/N? You had better hope that Kerry didn’t see it, you know she will go running right to Eric.”
“I literally ran into him, Steph. It wasn’t planned.”
“What did he say?” She persisted.
“He asked me if I loved Eric,”I whispered sadly.
“He did NOT! What did you say?” she demanded.
“I told him the truth. You know I am a terrible liar. Then He said I should be his.” A tear trickled down my cheek when I said this.
Steph looked shocked. “Oh, honey! What are you going to do?
“I don’t know,” I admitted weakly.
Kerry hadn’t said anything, so I assumed she didn’t see me talking to Sam and I breathed a sigh of relief. The next evening I was eating dinner with Dad and Uncle Michael when Dad said out of the blue. “So I hear that Sam Winchester and his brother have moved back to town. They bought the old Fitzgerald place.”
“Really,” I said vaguely.
“How was your bachelorette party, Y/N? It was at Costello’s, right?” He asked.
“Yes. It was fun.”
“I had lunch with Mike Costello today. He mentioned that he saw you and Sam Winchester talking at the bar during your party.” He said nonchalantly.
Dammit! My father had spies everywhere in this stupid town! I rolled my eyes dramatically. “Yes, Dad. I did talk to Sam. He’s an old friend. He bought me a drink to congratulate me on my wedding. We haven’t seen each other in ten years. That was it! Can we please be done with the third degree?”
My Dad nodded and turned to Uncle Michael. “I think we should extend an invitation to both Winchesters to join the pack. A strong Alpha and a lawyer to boot? He would be an asset. We could help him get settled. Help him find a mate. Show him there are no hard feelings.”
Uncle Michael looked from me to my father, the smallest ghost of a smile on his face. “Okay, Luci. I’ll take care of it.”
On the surface, my father sounded kind and civilized, but I could read between the lines. He was really saying, “I’m watching every move that he makes, little Omega, and I won’t hesitate to eliminate him if he interferes with my plans in the slightest.
I had been warned. For Sam’s own safety, I needed to warn him to stay away.
I had plans after dinner to go over to Steph’s to talk about wedding stuff. I just had to make a pitstop first. Dad was in his office with Uncle Michael when I breezed in with my wedding binder, stacks of wedding magazines, and tuxedo catalogs. “Don’t forget you two, your fittings are Tuesday. You CANNOT cancel, Dad. I MEAN it.”
“Sounds like she has your number, Luci.” Michael said with a grin.
“Bossy little ‘mega, isn’t she?” Your father teased. “Tell Stephanie not to spend all my money.”
“Bye Dad. Bye Uncle Michael.”
I parked a few houses away from the Fitzgerald house and walked just to be safe. It was all lit up so I knew they were home. I knocked on the door timidly.
The door opened, and a gorgeous guy with startling green eyes stood in the doorway. One sniff told me he was a Beta. A strong Beta but a Beta nonetheless.
Well, Hello. Please tell me your our neighbor coming to visit?“ He said with a hopeful look.
“Nope, sorry. I’m Y/N, Y/L/N. I’m here to see Sam. Is he here?” I could help smiling at his crestfallen look.
He looked surprised. “YOUR Y/N? I didn’t recognize you. Damn you grew up! Figures, hot girl at the door and She’s here to see Sam.”
Hey Dean. Nice to see you again.“
Dean turned and yelled up the stairs. “Hey Sammy. You have company.”
When Sam saw it was me, he smiled. “Send her up, Dean.”
I headed upstairs to where Sam was unpacking boxes. He was wearing jeans and a t-shirt which stretched tightly across his broad chest. My mouth went dry at the sight of him as his scent overwhelmed my senses.
“It took me much longer to get you into my room when you were 17,” Sam commented, arms crossed as he watched me.
“You were helping me with my homework, smart-ass,” I said dryly.
“Homework was the last thing on my mind. I may have only been 19, but I knew what I wanted, even back then.” He said, eyes locked with mine.
“Why are you here, Y/N?” Sam asked quietly.
“My father has spies everywhere. One of them saw us talking at the bar. I came to warn you, Sam. My father is watching you. Please stay away from me. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you.”
“I’m not a kid anymore. I’m not afraid of your Father. He forced me to leave you once, I won’t let him do it again!” “I didn’t have much to offer you when you were 17, but that’s not the case now. If he wants to fight, I’m ready.“
Please…..don’t.” I said weakly as his long fingers grabbed my chin and forced me to look into his eyes.
“Tell me you don’t want me as much as I want you and I’ll stop. Just tell me.”
He saw the answer reflected in my eyes and with a groan his lips captured mine. I let myself fall into his arms for a moment, relishing the feel of his powerful arms around me.
For a brief moment, it didn’t matter that I was about to marry someone else. I could pretend we were teenagers again, young and in love, with our whole lives ahead of us.
I tore my lips away and rested my forehead against his, trying to calm my racing heart. “I need to go, Sam. And you need to stay away. Dad’s thinking of asking you and Dean to join the pack. Then he would have 24-7 access to you. You would answer to him for everything. Don’t do it.” I pleaded,
“There is much more pleasant begging I want to hear coming from that pretty mouth of yours, Omega.” Sam said gruffly.
I stamped my foot, I was so frustrated at his cavalier attitude. “I have to go. I’m in too deep already.”
I turned to walk away, but Sam reached out a long arm and pulled me against him and whispered, “When I’m buried balls-deep inside you, then it will be deep enough.“ I twisted free, cheeks flaming.
I flew down the steps past a surprised Dean, Sam’s mocking laugh following me out the door.
