It felt pointless, though, without the hearty weight of his hook in his left hand. Faculty bastards had called it a weapon and confiscated it. They weren't wrong, of course, but why? It was unnerving, how defenseless he felt. "If this 's about th' fire stahted in the gym, I dinnae ken nuthin' about it."

A pause. A blink. Harry regarded Ben curiously with a slight tilt of his head. "Unless... That wasnae what ye wanted t' say?"

& 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 & 𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐬 , 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐬  more than he possibly thought it could.  perhaps moreso given that it is him , it’s ben , who is behind the words.  ben , who is so sweet , so caring.  who has been teaching him how to not be the very demon that is the subject of ben’s poisonous words.  anger flickers in grayed hazel gaze , masking that which he truly feels ; anguish.  he wants to lash out , to scream & tear the mighty king down with words equally as devastating , but lower lip quivers & eyes burn , his body betraying him & showing weakness.  he cries ; hot tears rolling down his cheeks & he dips his head in shame. 

he didn’t want to believe it , didn’t want to accept the fact that he had become chernabog.  his father.  he never wanted to be him , but there must have been a reason , right ?  a reason why his sweet , soft ben --- -- - a reason why he would see him that way.  a weak , broken sob rips in his throat & heels of his palms dig into sockets to try & stop his pathetic weeping.  chase turns his back to the king , hunching over slightly , fighting the urge to just drop to his knees & wail.

“i don’t want you to ever stop touching me, ben.” because he makes her feel good, he makes her feel safe and warm. her hands reach out to find his and she laces their fingers together, thumbs rubbing over the backs of his hands with a light smile.

ben always knows what to say to make her soft, to make her heart feel warm. she lets out a small breath, cheeks warming up a touch because of his words. nose wrinkles slightly and she reaches out to curl her fingers into the front of his shirt. she pulls him in closer and presses her face against his chest, rubbing her nose against the fabric, breathing him in. “i always want to be around you.”
