I don’t have strong opinions, as I’m not aquainted with the HTC. But I have an iPhone 4S, and I like it a lot.
I do not hate it. I maybe like it. (I like it) I hate the keyboard but I knew I would. I'm a button girl through-and-through.

I’m glad you’re making progress. I have the 4s. It’s ok. I’m not convinced either way. It’s good for pics and there are lots of apps. Mostly apple is easy to figure out I find, but I hate it on an emotional level. We could FaceTime tho so there’s that.

(It's a beauty by the way and I don't think you are a traitor. I just overreact.) This comment was a big swaying factor in my phone choice, actually. Most of my family have iphones and my mom wanted me to get one two years ago, so I figured, why not?

I’m in the same boat so let me know what you decide. Battery life is a factor for me.
you should check out sites (like cnet and many other sites) that do reviews, you should be able to cross reference what phones are available through your carrier along with the features that are most important to you.

I hate Apple so I am unable to offer you an totally unbiased opinion. My best friend, however, loves her HTC.

had I seen the bandwagon comment, it probably would have had me running towards the HTC, but, it is ordered and written. I will soon have an iphone.

yeah. you are probably right *shrug*. I've been doing this thing lately where I know a thing isn't right for me and then... I TEST THAT THEORY, at least this is just a phone.
I wanted a giant phone with buttons. buttons don't really exist anymore. so the giant part was super important. I was excited about the Galaxy Note 2 (because of the giantness and the drawing possibilities) and the new HTC one, If I could have waited a few weeks I could have gotten in on a super sale but, Cat Karl Pigwidgeon Fancy McRingDingle the Luckphone of the SpaceDragons (my old phone) could not wait and needed to be put to rest.
I ended up with a buttonless non-giant. *shrug*
I have an annoyingly long list of things that I don't like about this phone but it's a FUN phone and will get me through. Thanks for all the comments and advice, I don't know if I gathered them all? but I'm pretty busy listening to music, battling zombies, sexting, and tumbling all from one device so, I'm not going to go back two months in replies.
