This past week I was in the hospital because I couldn't hold down any food or liquids not even water. After 48 hours of that I could barley move and was close to death. My mother rushed me to the emergency room. When I got there I was immediately put on fluids by the nurse. When the doctor came in is when my story became more of a struggle. The first thing THE FIRST THING he asked me was not if I was okay or what was wrong but in front of my crying mother he asked me if I was on drugs. Just like that "are you on drugs" when I said no he said "we will see about that". After an hour of waiting and continuous puking they took my blood and gave me my first anti nausea medication through my IV. I continued to vomit (only acid and water btw). He came back in and told me they found THC in my system and that I lied. I told him I hadn't smoked in a few days and it had nothing to do with my throwing up he responded with "we will see about that". He then had a nurse give me another nausea medication, this one was given in a shot through my arm (which I later found out he wasn't suppose to do) the pain was more then I have ever felt in my life. About ten minutes later I had a seizure due to the medication. After I was stable I began to vomit again. They then replaced my bag gave me more fluids and A THRID nausea medication. After about another hour of my throwing up after THREE nausea medications the doctor came in and said "oh well this is a real thing." I was then transferred into a room to stay over night and see a gastroenterologist (tummy doctor) in the morning. During the night my entire arm neck and back (on the side the shot was given) swelled up so much I couldn't move my entire right side. Screaming in agony the nurses came in. They all freaked out giving me hot packs and staying in my room to make sure the swelling went down. The vomiting continued into the next morning and the swelling went down. In the morning I got a new nurse and the doctor came in. The first thing out of the gastroenterologist's mouth was "I see you some pot". I explained again that it had nothing to do with what was going on to me. He actually laughed and said he would order an ultra sounds and walked out. After a few hours of more fluid and vomiting my best friend came to visit. While she was there the attending doctor came in to "check me out". He rudely asked me two or three questions and left (I never saw him again). I began to have another seizure about 30 mins later. The nurse rushed in and my friend calmed me down afterwords. This is when I found out not only should I have never received that medication (it's for cancer patients only) and that it should not have be administered into my arm from the nurse (never seen one so angry). I finally stopped throwing up and got some apple sauce down. The gastroenterologist came back and asked if I wanted to go home, not giving me any information on my condition or my results to my ultra sound. I said yes, feeling disrespected and like nothing. The nurse then came back in upset again because my vitals were extremely off and she asked that I stay until she levels me out (the doctor didn't even check before discharging me). After two more bags of fluids/potassium/magnesium she let me leave. I still can't eat very much and can barley move without feeling dizzy THREE DAYS later. I will NEVER go back to that hospital unless forced. I've never felt so belittled and uncared for in my life. Not only did the doctors not do there job but they ASSUMED right off the bat that I was a "pot head" who obviously to them didn't matter. They didn't care to ask me why I smoke, or if I have a medical card. Which I do, and I smoke to help with my depression and anxiety. The nurses where more attentive and in my opinion more knowledgeable then the doctors I saw and I saw three. What happened to our health system
