So i've changed my rats' substrate over to bedmax shavings and they seem so happy! Scatter feeding is so much more fun for them now 😍 so cute watching their little rattie skips and hops across the cage :')

Luckily only three bangs to the head today

Last Saturday I got up early, and deciding to go for a walk to start the day well, managed to smack myself in the head twice with my digital SLR in the process of putting my coat on. Being philosophical about the two hits in quick succession, and superstitious about these things coming in threes, I hoped it would stop at 3 bangs on the head for one day, and wondered here number three would come from.

After my walk I headed off to buy a bail of shavings and as I left the store, carrying my bail of shavings over my shoulder, the single, narrow, and now I think of it, fucking stupid sized exit door, swung shut and hit the back of the bail which propelled with quite considerable force, my face into the door frame.

The crease down my forehead has gone now, but the memory of the sharp edged aluminium door frame will be embedded, quite literally, in my mind for some time to come.
