After a few weeks in the circus, you have taken a liking to everyone in the circus, you really carved your place through all the colourful characters.
Your interest towards Ragatha really peaked through the adventures, her likeable and sweet personality, her honesty and the fact she always tries to make everyone happy, she makes you think of your mom out in the real world.
Caine notices, of course he does, every time you’re not out on an adventure with the others, he looks at you with his thousands of all seeing eyes.
For you, Ragatha is like a parental figure, thats why you get closer to her, it’s strictly platonic, but caine doesn’t know about that.
On your next adventure, you and the others have to escape from a swarm of giant bees, that doesn’t shock you, you saw how obsessed Caine is with bees. Always doodling them at every chance he gets…
But what surprised you was that, no matter how much yall ran and hid, Ragatha always got injured.
Eaten by a be, stabbed by a stinger, taken into the sunny sky by a angry bee, you’ve seen it all, no matter how much you tried to protect her, she can’t escape her demise.
You even tried to put yourself between a particularly angry bee and her but the evil little flying b#*!h still attacks Ragatha, over and over again.
At the end of the adventure, everyone had been bit at least five times, but Ragatha, her, got literally tortured.
“Welcome back my skibidi sigmas! What did yall think of this amazing adventure!?”
And the cycle continues.
Everyday, Ragatha gets tortured and Caine acts like he’s not the one litteraly setting up the adventures and npcs.
One time after a particularly harsh adventure, you go up to Caine to get a grip on the situation.
“Caine..? Can we talk?”
“Yes of course superstar!”
“Do you have… something against Ragatha?”
“What! Why would I hate one of my precious little humans, who do you think I am, I’m the ring leader, it’s my purpose to take care of you all at the same time in the same way!”
You flinch when he raises his tone, worried he might get angry at you for accusing him.
“Why is Ragatha getting beaten up in every adventure then.. I’m really worried for her..”
Caine zones out, he’s kinda realizing you’re right, but he doesn’t wanna admit it.
He lacks an explanation.
He snaps his fingers, and you’re back in your room. No matter how much you call his name, he doesn’t answer, you decide to take a nap to get some digital sleep.
The next day, Caine introduces a new adventure, as usual, but this time he asks Ragatha to stay in the circus with him, zooble takes Ragatha's place in the adventure, which you don’t mind since you always wanted to know them more.
After the exhausting adventure, you come home to see Caine and Ragatha laughing together on a digital couch, he sees you and come towards you.
He hugs you tight, you do the same.
“ I.. you were right. I noticed how close to Ragatha and maybe I thought.. you didn’t like my adventures anymore..”
He’s trying to find an excuse to not say he was just jealous. His program can’t really compretend the feeling of jealousy.
“I apologize. I failed my job.”
“It’s okay Caine.”
“But is it..”
Ragatha joins you both and put a hand on caine’s shoulder
“Yes it is Caine!”
Since then, Caine seems a little closer to Ragatha, which makes your heart warm up like a hot cup of coffee.
“Caine really evolves.. eh”
“Why are you talking about Caine again?!”
Zooble says
You snap out of your bubble and continue talking with Zooble while still glancing at Caine in the corner of the room.
He glances back and y’all make eye contact
You smile at him.
He does the same.

the way that dragon age 2 really is just a series of increasingly worse tragedies culminating in anders doing what he does.....
also something about the inevitability of it all. you are going to lose your home and become a refugee in a foreign nation. you can do nothing to stop this. bethany or carver is going to die before you get out. you can do nothing to stop this. you are going to lose your remaining sibling. you can do nothing to stop this. you are going to lose your mother. you can do nothing to stop this. isabela is going to run off with the relic. you can do nothing to stop this. the arishok is going to attack your city. you can do nothing to stop this. anders is going to blow up the chantry. you can do nothing to stop this.
maybe you can do the right thing, pick the right choices, forge strong enough relationships to help mitigate some of the damage from these things, but they are going to happen. you can do nothing to stop them.
