Endless List of Shows That Remind Me of The Scorpio Races – Home Fires
Has anyone seen Home Fires? There’s a family of butchers that could totally be the Grattons.
What are the heights of the Connollys? How tall is Sean Kendrick? Is there an adorable height difference between George Holly and Annie? These are things I want to know.
When the Connolly's are at the Grattons house: Gabe says, "You'll have the couch, I'm afraid Finn, Because you're the shortest." "Under whose measure!" I say. Gabe shrugs. "Well, you're the shortest, technically, but peg thinks you should be in a room with a door..." I'm assuming Finn inherited Gabes height too like you said :)
Ah, I see! I forgot about that part. I’m fascinated with these little details. Finn is probably still much shorter than Gabe, since Gabe’s hand-me-down sweaters are too big for him, but I imagine he passed Puck a long time ago. I wonder how tall all those boys are, exactly. Headcanonwise, I’ve always pictured Beech as being quite tall and solid, and, for whatever reason, I saw Tommy as short-to-average. Still, in my mind, if he’s taller than Finn, it probably can’t be by much.
What say you all? How tall do you picture the characters?
The Scorpio Races Modern!AU: Beech Gratton
"Your face is a ruin." Beech grunts with admiration, and I remember the woman smearing my face with blood. "You look like the devil."

Favorite Secondary Characters: Minor Characters
I loved all of your responses, so I've split them up into a couple of posts by character (and grouped the more minor characters together).
teenagebookland answered to your post “Swapping Stories: Favorite Secondary Character from The Scorpio Races?”
I like Beech Gratton, who can't butcher a cow properly. Also Finn and George Holly!
Ah, dear Beech. He's so snarky in his first appearance. I bet he gets that from his mother. :)
wildthingsandwildkings:
Peg Gratton! She honestly acts like a gruff sort of mother to Puck (as well as Finn), and genuinely cares about them. She's actually awesome
Seriously, if she can put up with having Gabe and Tommy and Beech and Mr. Gratton in her house at all hours, she must be able to handle anything. Although she plays by the rules of her society (the whole "no point seeking the grail if it looks like your teacup" conversation is a little dubious by today's standards but I don't blame her for it), she's capable and independent and subverts the standards of her day in other ways. I bet she saw a lot of herself in Puck and wanted to save her from the same heartache and opposition she faced.
dyingxsendtea:
Can... can I just love them all? And the entire island itself, as a character? I believe the Thisby to be a character in itself.
Oh yes. Thisby is most definitely a character, and the most beguiling one to me as well!
dyingxsendtea:
But also Puffin because she's super badass to survive a capaill uisce attack
Puffin is a cat of mythical proportions. All shall fear her and obey!
jsmileybug:
Finn reminds me of both me and my siblings. I adore the Mare Goddess in all her bloody mysterious Sean-captivatingness. And George Holly!!!!
Someone had a theory that Annie is the mare goddess, which is such an interesting thing to think about! But in any case, the mare goddess is so delightfully creepy! The book is full of dichotomies: land vs. sea, island vs. the mainland, old religion vs. the new. She really gives us a glimpse into a time when Thisby was truly wild.
