What Your Favorite Tears of the Kingdom Ship Says About You
A sequel to this
Tears of the Kingdom:
Link x Zelda (ZeLink): You are a firm believer in the inherent romanticism of finding each other and moving past trauma.
Link x Sidon (SidLink): You are a firm believer in ignoring canon, especially to make it gay.
Sidon x Yona (SidYona): You just want good things for Yona. And really…you’re part of a rare breed.
Link x Sidon x Yona (SidYonLink): You’re definitely into MLM ships but you got sick of ppl saying you were a misogynist.
Rauru x Sonia (Raunia): You’re confused why anyone would fuck around with a toxic, love-hate couple when there’s a perfectly healthy couple right there.
Link x Ganondorf (GanLink): You’re confused why anyone would care about a perfectly healthy couple when there’s a toxic, love-hate couple to fuck around with.
Zelda x Ganondorf (ZelGan): You project onto Link and you really want to get cucked.
Link x Zelda x Ganondorf (ZelGanLink): You’re just super horny.
Link x Paya (PayLink): You’re the type of person who only gets interested in a girl when she’s dating someone else.
Link x Purah (PurLink): You like big booba lady
Beedle x Reader: This is easily the most canon ship on list and I think that that’s beautiful.
God the way Beedle is so underrated. I love this, I absolutely will write this. Since no gender is mentioned, I will keep this gender neutral c:
A little Beedle x Reader for you, under the cut.
It's been his rule to keep going forward at all times. Bugs never stopped their journey of life, and as a philosophy, neither did he. Yet today, today he decided to look up. Perhaps it was the rustling of the leaves that caught his ears, or the soft mumbling that pulled his attention away from the path to the next stable. Upon stopping and lifting his gaze to all the ruckus above him, Beedle saw your boots sticking out of a large, leafy branch. He knows your footwear like the back of his hand having seen you more times than he can count, and sometimes even travelling the same direction with you!
"Ahhhh, what to do, what to do..." you mumbled from above, kicking your feet. The brunette tilted his head before calling your name with some suspicion. Instantly your legs jolted at his voice, a squeak of 'Beedle?!' from the leaves - ah, so it was you! Beedle shrugged off his horned backpack, setting it just under the tree you were currently occupying. Hands on his hips, Beedle shouted up to you, "What are you doing up there? That can't be safe, you know!"
You nervously laughed at his question, "I know, but I...kind of can't get down?"
Beedle gave a short sigh, of course you couldn't get down, look at how high up you were! With a smile that said 'You're hopeless', he stretched out his arms.
"Jump down! I'll catch you!" the merchant yelled, flexing his fingers involuntarily. You stiffened again at his words: catch you?! Surely you'd kill him from the impact alone! Peeking out from a smaller branch you saw your merchant friend looking up in your direction with his arms out in front of him.
"I can hear your thoughts buzzing up there," Beedle chided playfully, "You know I carry items that weigh three of you combined, right? Just jump already!"
He had you there. Beedle was fortunately a man of incredible (and scarily unknown) strength. Taking a deep breath you called back to him, "Okay, okay. Don't drop me, Beedle!" and you jumped.
Your legs and back thumped directly into his arms as promised. Your initial fearful expression turned to one of relief as you it registered that he caught you with ease.
"Wouldn't dream of it" he replied reassuringly as he gently set you down. Dusting yourself off from all the foliage and dirt, you gave him your most heartfelt thanks, but that did not deter the merchant's curiosity. He eyed you with a wary but curious demeanor, "What exactly were you doing all the way up there?"
Oh, that. Unfurling your arms, you held up a jar to his face, "I was trying to catch this."
In the jar before him, in all of its golden glory, was a stunning energetic rhino beetle. Immediately impressed, Beedle let out a loud "OOOOH!" before carefully taking the jar from your hands. He marveled at the insect inside, eyes sparkling in delight at the sight of it sitting regally.
"I can't believe you managed to catch this! You MUST trade this with me!" Instead, you simply smiled, bright and sunny, "No need. I caught it for you!" Beedle looked up from the beetle, blank stare connecting with your giddy one. You blinked once. Twice. Once more for good measure.
"It's yours, Beedle," you laughed nervously as he continued to stare at you with wide eyes, "I, um...caught it for you. I know you like beetles, so...this one's yours."
Suddenly his arms came around you. Taken slightly aback, you held your hands up for a moment until you processed what exactly was happening. Beedles hand pat your back gently, and you felt the tickle of his hair brush your cheek when he shifted slightly.
"Thank you," his voice came at a grateful whisper, "No one's ever willingly given me a beetle before." Your heart thumped sadly in your chest, his appreciative tone mixed with his vulnerability making you want to cling to him and never let go. Instead, you simply hugged him back, "I was happy to find it for you!"
-----
It would be several days before you see him again, with your last encounter having you part ways; you had plans to check out Whistling Hills, while Beedle has mentioned wanting to traverse the Rauru Hillside before heading back south. You were happy to see a set of familiar horns poking out of the tent at the Wetland Stable when you'd finally arrived.
"Beedle!" called you, running enthusiastically to catch up to the merchant, "Long time no s- oh my god?!"
Upon closer inspection, he looked pretty worse for wear: covered in quite a few bruises and deep scratches across his face and arms. Immediately you slammed down your pack, pulling your first-aid kit out to tend to him.
"Beedle, what happened to you?! You look like you got mauled by a moblin!" you were a little shriller than you wanted to sound, but he really did look torn up! Quickly dousing a cloth in some healing potion, you dabbed at his face before he could stop you. Beedle simply laughed softly at your concern, "I did get a little roughed up, didn't I?" his eyes widened briefly and he caught your wrist, ceasing your cleaning of his face, "Oh! But I promise it was for a good reason, hold on a moment, please!" Instantly he let go, turning to open his beetle pack behind him and shuffle around a bit. When he let out a short 'Aha!', he swiftly pulled out what was he looking for and turned back to you.
In his hands was a bouquet: an arrangement of cool safflina, silent princesses, and swift violets. The soft blues and purples were so brilliant in their various hues - you were stunned by how beautiful they were wrapped delicately in one as they were. He placed the flowers carefully in your hands, "Consider it my way of thanking you."
Realizing he had probably sustained his injuries from picking all of these for you, you felt a lump form in your throat; looking up at him with tears beginning to brim in your eyes your voice wavered a bit, "B-But you already said thank you, Beedle..." With his hands on his hips, he laughed a little louder now, genuine grin on his face as he retorted, "Words aren't enough for gifting me something so special! This was the least I could do."
You held the bouquet to your nose, the pleasant fragrances reminding you that these were picked with tremendous care. Thoughtlessly, you leaned forward, pecking a kiss to the brunette's cheek. The smile you wore was as authentic as it came, and you were hoping your eyes would spell out exactly how much his thoughtful gift meant to you. His breath hitched in surprise at first, then melted into a look that sat between pleased and in disbelief.
"Thank you, Beedle...they're marvelous," your voice warm with gratitude. Any semblance of a word died on his tongue, still in awe was he at your affectionate gesture. Your hand took his without a moment to spare as you led him into the stable tent, "Now...let's get you cleaned up, okay? Some of those scratches look a little gruesome." But Beedle could barely hear you over the sound of his heart thrumming in his chest. The only sentence he was able to coherently respond with being, "Y-Yeah...okay~"
You would find out later from one of the stable girls that he looked "positively in love".
