so this guy i’m friends with is a baritone and for a recital we did he chose to sing Music Of The Night from Phantom of the Opera
bold choice i know
and he totally crushed it,,,,,apart from one note which entirely escaped his range.
you know the really important bit that goes ‘let your soul take you where you long to BE’
and it’s a massive g#4 that needs to be belted
he decided to use head voice for that
so instead of a sweeping and majestic ‘BEEEEEEAAAAYYYYYYY’
it became ‘Let your soul take you where you long to Bᵉᵉᵉᵉᵉᵉᵉᵉᵉ’
it shouldn’t have been funny because other than that he crushed it. but it was fuckin hilarious.
