Beef and Vegetable stew - Slow cooker
Last night I made a beef and vegetable stew and it turned out pretty good! Let it be known that I am not a good cook there have been times where I've burnt water. So I was really surprised when it turned out pretty good. Even the husband liked it and didn't have to add hot sauce to it! Something the army boys do when they have to eat something they don't like.
Here is what "recipe" I used
about 1 pound of beef cubed.
1 carton of beef stock
1/2 a medium onion
2 cloves of garlic, minced or put threw a garlic press
1 pound of baby carrots
3 stocks of celery sticks
1 small bag of mixed potatoes, mine had yellow, red and blue
1 can of condensed tomato soup
4 cups of water
1 cup of lentils
1 cup of frozen peas
Spices:
basil
parsly
Montreal steak spice
garlic powder
salt
pepper
Italian spices
chili pepper
orangeno
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon of ground flax seed
Brown the beef in a fry pan, then add them to the slow cooker.
Chop up, celery, potatoes, onion and carrots (if using baby carrots you can add them whole) add to slow cooker.
mince garlic or put it threw a garlic press. add to slow cooker.
Add tomato soup, beef broth, water, lentils and peas to slow cooker
Add spices to taste, adjusting as needed a good rule of thumb if you think it smells good add a little bit and see how it tastes!
