Beehive Cluster//Praesepe//Messier 44. March 30th, 2024.
M44: A Beehive of Stars - August 3rd, 1998.
"M44 is a prominentĀ open clusterĀ of stars. Nicknamed Praesepe and "The Beehive," it is one of the fewĀ open clustersĀ visibleĀ to the unaided eye.Ā M44Ā was thought to be aĀ nebulaĀ untilĀ GalileoĀ used an early telescope to resolve the cluster's bright blue stars. These stars are visible in theĀ above image.Ā M44, which is thought to have formed about 400 million years ago, is larger and older than mostĀ other open clusters. The Beehive Cluster lies about 580 light-years away, and spans about 10 light-years across. When viewed with a powerful telescope, hundreds of stars become visible."
Baby crows are learning how to do crow things, and they found my dog's frisbee lmao. Also, hummingbirds:

The Beehive Cluster
Also known as M44, the star cluster is one of closer to our Solar System at just 600 light years.
The stars were thought to have formed around 600 million years ago, and cover an area of 15 light years. As you can see in the image, some of the stars have already moved off the main sequence and become red giants, and it's quite likely a sizable number of the initial stars have already gone supernova in the past.
Gf took me to go see Phantom of the Opera and it was SO COOL it also gave me an excuse to finally take update photos of my messier 44 tattoo
