Chloe and Marinette still clash

But queen bee starts coming around Marinette being real friendly/flirty

Cue Marinette being really confused but slowly relaxing around her

Hey! I’m back with the designs for turtle!Marinette and bee!Marinette. I did them both at the same time since last week I did the fox by itself. 

When it came to the turtle I wanted to lean into her Chinese heratige again, but also lean towards a memorial to Fu since I’m sure that’s something Marinette would do. So she got a top that’s like her Kitty Noire one, but also got gi pants (Martial arts pants, free moving and I like the snap they have when you kick.) I also gave her shoulder armour simply because I like the look of it, which is the same reason I changed the shield to bracers.  It really was just because I didn’t want to draw the shield, but when I had given her the bracers in the sketch (which did have the shield) I was drawing some inspiration from Wonder Woman.  Overall, she looks feminine, and yet everything is easy to move in and won’t inhibit her ability to fight. I also don’t know if I spelled her name right, but my other option was Lady Jade.

On the bee I simply don’t like the canon weapon. I think it doesn’t match with the other five and takes too much from Ladybug. All the weapons for the five main miraculous are ones that don’t allow you fast travel (like Ladybug’s yoyo or Chat’s staff) except the bee, which seems off to me. I get the power relies on it having some reach, but still.  So in this design I made the weapon a hammer, with the stingers since, ouch, and it still allows the power to be venom (or even change the power, make it similar to a worker bee and give the hammer some properties like Felix’s hammer from Wreck it Ralph)  Then with her design, I chose to use the half jacket again, but instead of a popped collar, give it some fluff since bees are fluffy and Chloe was cheated out of having some fluff in canon. I did the same to her boots to give more areas with fluff (Her gloves originally had fluff too. I decided against it though) Her pigtails were something I took from Marigold (Zoe-Oneesama’s AU) because I like it, and the fact it actually looks nice (And I don’t have to deal with giving her hair much detail at all) Her markings I thought up on a whim, but I made them sharp since the bee is an attacker. 

So yes, next week I should have the butterfly/peacock done. Those two though will be suit ideas for Villain!marinette since our canon holders are villains and I like toying with a villainette. (I can still do a hero butterfly/peacock though, which gives me more content to put on here.)

Marinette sighed as her majesty leapt over the apex of yet another building. “Seriously, the akuma isn’t even following us anymore. You can put me down now.” She let Chloe keep the Bee miraculous, the least the blonde could do is not obstruct Marinette’s own superheroism.

Not that she knew Marinette was Ladybug. Sigh.

“Nonsense! I have to keep you safe, Marinette!”

She suddenly cares, how quaint. “At least slow down, Queen Bee. Your face is really red from all this exertion, you must be tired.”

Chloe’s face became even more sanguine at that comment. Was she that unused to physical activity?

Marinette supposed she should not have been surprised.

“Don’t be ridiculous! I’m a superhero! I can handle a little running!”

“Of course, I forgot how amazing you are at – HEY! DON’T DROP ME!”

“Sorry!” The bee heroine scrambled to reaffirm her grip on her classmate. She hooked her slim arms firmly underneath Marinette as she clumsily pulled her over her shoulder.

She definitely was not trying to feel Marinette up. No way.

“Uh, Q-Queen Bee?”

“Yes?”

“You can, uh… Take your hand off my butt now.”

“Ah! Right! Sorry!”

Marinette sighed again. She didn’t know why Chloe was acting so weird, but at this point she was just being a burden. She shifted slightly, trying to twist around and look her savior in the eye, “Why don’t you set me down somewhere, so I can hide? Then you can go help Chat Noir and Ladybug with the akuma?”

“Oh!” The blonde’s voice conveyed disappointed, but she set Marinette down in an alley, “Right, good plan. Uh, stay here. I’ll be back to check on you!”

And she was off with a quick toss and swing. Marinette shook her head as Tikki emerged from her bag, “As if. Tikki, transform me!”

With her own line in hand, Ladybug accelerated upwards and onwards toward the chaos.

As she neared the battlegrounds, she spotted black and yellow blurs jumping around a large, writhing water hose. Hawk Moth’s champions kept getting odder and odder.

“Sorry I’m late! I didn’t miss all the fun, did I?” She let herself smirk, confident that the three of them could handle this hydrated hoodlum with ease.

“Not at all, Milady!” Chat chimed in as he swung at Hoser. “You and Queenie are just in time to cat-ch the action!”

Ladybug rolled her eyes even as she wrapped her yo-yo around Hoser’s body, tying him to his hose. She pulled with all her might to subdue him while she glanced around for his akuma.

She had been right. Three superheroes had been over-kill for this one. “Pound it!” She smiled as Chat Noir made to run off and de-transform. But the black cat hero paused by their insect-inspired teammate.

“And you, Queenie, did you manage to save your girlfriend~?”

… What?

“Shut it, you mangy cat! She’s not my girlfriend!”

“Uh,” Ladybug interjected, “Who are you two talking about?”

“She’s just—”

“Our little Queenie has a crush!” Chat sang, poking and prodding at Chloe’s face.

Chaos reigned in Ladybug’s heart at the sound. She almost feared the name that might—

“Marinette Dupain-Cheng!”

—Yeah. That was what she had expected.

“That’s why she was late to the fight, too.”

“I had to make sure she was safe.”

“Good job.” The red hero smiled.

“See, she—what?” Her two friends blanked at her.

“Good job. Protecting her, I mean.” Marinette tried to will her blush to cease, “Anyway! We should probably split up to de-transform. Besides, you need to go check on her, right?”

Chloe gasped and didn’t bother answering before darting away.

Marinette shakily turned to her other teammate, “Y-yeah. We should get going to.”

“Right! Until next time, Bugaboo!”

As soon as Ladybug was out of sight, she was racing toward that alley at top speed, trying to arrive before Chloe. She ended up arriving scant seconds before, de-transforming even as she tumbled forward ungracefully and skidded into a wall.

“Ah! Marinette! Are you okay?” The voice rang in her ears, and the designer looked up at the frantic blonde before her.

“O-oh, yeah.” She replied, unable to stop the blush. Chloe was too close. “I’m just kind of clumsy, is all.”

“Oh! Of course! That’s good. That you’re okay, I mean.” Queen Bee stood up straight, grabbing Marinette’s arm and pulling her upright as well. “Well… I, uh…” The heroine scuffed her foot awkwardly for a moment.

“You defeated the akuma, right?” Marinette asked, her bashful smile not fading, “You should probably go, then, right, Chloe?”

“H-huh!?” The bee heroine flinched back, “How did you know my secret identity!?”

“You… Uh… Kind of told the world… It was on the news.”

“Oh, right…”

Marinette paused, looking at the awkward girl in front of her. The girl who had all but confessed to having a crush on her mere minutes ago. She didn’t really know how to handle a situation like this.

“So,” Marinette held a hand forward, “You want to de-transform and walk back to school with me?”

She figured, however, that it wouldn’t hurt to be kind.

Alya would want an explanation, though.

So I freaking LOVE your kwami swap stories, and I was kind of wondering if you have any plans to do a full story of turtle!mari or bee!mari? I think those are the only 2 you haven’t written full stories for. Either way, love your work! :)

Yep! Haven’t done those, which is kind of wild since I think those would probably be the best for her, especially bee, she matches with the traits of the bee a lot. Only thing is thinking of what stories to do but I have some maybes.

An upcoming idea, Fortune Favors the Bold, where Adrien fails Fu’s test and Marinette works solo with two miraculouses, there’s a chance she may get turtle alongside the earrings, or it’s the ring. But by Fu’s comment in Robotose about how earrings and ring should never be together, more likely for him to not hand out the ring. So FFtB could be the turtlnette, with a mix of LB to her. 

As for bee… there are two maybe ideas. 

One is another take on the au of Marinette giving up the earrings to Alya. After doing a character study on what miraculouses could work best and which would be the least fit, I had a realization on why the earrings really wouldn’t be best for Alya, and want to explore this new thought. So while Alya struggles, Marinette is groomed by Pollen to embrace the queen bee that she truly is, helping her be confident and capable in herself.

The other idea is a set up where Fu doesn’t have the best intuition on choosing heroes, playing off the detail that he didn’t finish his Guardian training, and he had chosen DJWifi as LBBC pair. Only the duo aren’t as solid as he had hoped and need a little extra help. Though, this could also potentially be another Marifox or turtlnette; with this time for sure, Marientte won’t be obtaining the earrings. 

It’d be one of those for another miraculous swap with Marinette, but we’ll just have to see on them. I need to think on them more and the other I need to finish LFP first, which will be a while.
