Happy Sunday from this beer babe.
Okay so I don't know much about beer, but a few night ago I was at a pub in my college town with some friends so I decided to be brave and try something new. I got a beer called Delirium Noel and it was delicious. Just thought I'd share it with you because all I could think about was 'a pleasant undoing' and all the beers they drink. Love your that story so much!!
Clarke and her beer nerds are honored to have crossed your mind, and my hat is off to you for trying a new draft. I’ve just spent a good ten minutes on Delirium’s website and I hope you proceeded on this beer quest with caution because anything called “delirium” and promoting a pink elephant likely packs a punch. But it looks adorably festive! Not sure they distribute to the US, but I’ll have a look for it when I’m next at the beer shop :)
Hi, I’ve really enjoyed A Pleasant Undoing. Thanks for writing! Lots of beers to check out ;). Dunno if you take beer recs, or if you can get much from down South, but I’m currently having one of my all-time faves: Highland’s Cold Mountain. It’s like drinking the tears of a unicorn.
Thank YOU for reading, and I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the fic :) My wife will accuse me of being ~extra, but I’ve actually been contemplating posting a compilation list of all the breweries/varietals listed in apu once it’s finished. Not sure if anyone would be interested in that.
To answer your question: YES! I will take any and all beer recommendations you’ve got. Distribution across state lines for smaller brewers can be tricky, but I love hearing/learning about them even if I’m unable to purchase them locally. Consider me as thirsty for beer as Alicia Clark is for water in the apocalypse.
hiya! just wanted to pop by to tell you how much I’m enjoying reading A Pleasant Undoing! it’s really lovely, so thank you for writing! out of curiosity (and bc i live in belgium) i was wondering which belgian beers you like best? have a nice day!
Oh wow—hello to you too! Okay, the truth is, I drink very locally, like almost exclusively beers made within the 5-6 surrounding states (MA, ME, NH, CT, NY, VT) so my knowledge of BEL drafts are limited. That being said, my tiny town has an incredible ale house that features Belgian pours pretty heavily, and though I tend to avoid them generally (because they typically fall within an 8.5-11+% ABV and I’m a huge lightweight), I’m going to make a concerted effort to start sampling them more often.
I’ve recently been very intrigued by saison (indicative of Clarke’s thrill over Trillium, which @orangeyouglad8 and I sampled IRL last month and got properly drunk doing so), and am interested to try this Brasserie Dupont Saison that the ale house offers. I shall report back!
No actually fuck that beer post. I do not fucking care if you were offered it as a kid (ignoring that i have never heard of that before but maybe it's a regional thing), you do not have the right to make fun of a kid for not wanting to drink beer and like. Wording it weirdly.
Hey remember when boomers aren't all seethingly racist white people was going around? But now because teens have the apparent fucking GALL to be less learned then you it's ok. This site is fucking rancid, you are all not as good as you think you are, you're a bunch of assholes who happen to like s&m or weed or you're a furry or some other shit meaning you have the right to bully children.
Oooh while I haven't tried the Sea Quench Ale, DogFish Head's Flesh and Blood IPA is great!
The Sea Quench wasn’t bad—a part of my education on sour beer, which has been a recent and welcomed discovery. So far I am favoring a Belgian sour called The Duchess, though I am always open to suggestions particularly of the IPA variety so 👌🏽 thanks!
i love the sea quench ale! so good!
Awesome! I’m going to give it a try tonight 🍻
Enjoying a delicious Capital Brewery Island Wheat beer (technically an ale) with my binge watching this evening.
