BEST BANDS TO LISTEN TO WHEN YOU’RE (weed) HIGH: in order of favorites
1. cemeteries — there is truly no better band to listen to when stoned, something about their music is just truly otherworldly. indiscernible vocals, lots of reverb, beautiful use of acoustic guitar. music feels very organic aside from some intentional distortion, just a lovely lovely lovely sound. do not fucking listen if you’re sad though you’ll have a panic attack and end up vomiting bc of how emotional their music makes you lol
2. spirit of the beehive — good band for much of the same reason cemeteries is, but very different sound. lots of synth, sampling, effects on the music make it sound ‘crunchy’ but in such an appealing way, especially because of the reverb. their music switches back and forth between heavy drums and more calm noise, but it’s never jarring. very original sound, pairs well with a bong (i think i’ve never used one)
3. king krule — deepest singing voice i’ve ever heard, uses so much bass in his music, fantastic to listen to if there’s a speaker nearby. his lyrics are also often difficult to understand, and so a lot of the dopamine comes from deep background vocals and the instruments he uses. calm high. good high. something you’d wanna listen to while stoned in public.
4. men i trust — a classic, a very safe band. lovely sound with a sort of jazz-y tune, lead singer has a gorgeous, gorgeous voice. a lot of calm drums, bass, a slight reverb that isn’t super noticeable. sort of pop-y tones as well, but never super upbeat. a band you can very easily get lost in while high.
