Penelope raised an eyebrow as she watched Anthony sniff at her glass of lemonade. “I am merely returning the kindness you and your family have always shown me, my lord,” she murmured, her shyness coming back to her suddenly. She wasn’t as close to him as she was to Eloise and Colin, but she respected him a great deal all the same. “I am sorry if I spoke out of turn though.”

It was impossible to feel that Bridgerton House was quiet. With the younger children always running around, bickering and throwing scones at one another, and with the turn-style like way the elder children were in and out, it was hardly anything but busy chaos. His mother did well to run her household as a Lady ought to, but it was nothing short of impossible to keep all eight of them under complete control. Even now, with one married off and another galavanting around the globe, the house was quite aflutter in activity, enough to make Benedict’s head turn in any direction in anticipation. The middle two sisters had spent the better part of the morning at one another’s throats, sharpened wit making them both formidable opponents, and he had been clever enough to remove himself from the war zone before it was his head to be lopped off next.

The London air was fresh, warm even as fall encroached, but he was rather looking forward to the winter, when perhaps he would make a break for the country. He stood on the corner at the end of the drive up to the house, his shoulder leaned casually against the stone post, the gate hanging open behind as it did most days. The Bridgertons weren’t known for inhospitality. Which was perhaps why Penelope Featherington knew she had an open invitation, and why he spied her now coming around the corner from where her family lived. “If you’re calling on Eloise, I would suggest another lap or two around the block,” Benedict called, friendly warmth in his warning. “She’s in quite the mood today.”

promenading was a frequent pasttime of all eligible young women and their ambitious mama’s. kate sharma was no exception to that rule. mary had practically insisted that she and her sister ventured there for an afternoon walk, hoping that edwina’s suitors would flock. of course, the latter part of that had gone unsaid but both of the sharma sisters were far from naïve when it came to the marriage mart. after all, they had been planning this trip to london for quite some time and so, they had to be prepared for the many men that they would have to try and impress.

​while edwina was up ahead with a young gentleman, mary was a few steps behind them and kate was even further back. if they were to sashay about, she wanted to at least have newton along so he could get his daily walk. though, truthfully, she would have much preferred to be doing such a thing by herself but mary had insisted she be there too. after all, she was also meant to be trying to find herself a husband.

yet, no-one had particularly caught her interest. so, she was content to walk trailing behind the group, head turned skyward to let the sun kiss her skin.

Kanthony for the ship meme! Modern verse

send a ship and i’ll tell you who:

Gives nose/forehead kisses:: anthony for sure, kate is more of a kiss on the cheek kind of person. 

Gets jealous the most:: i feel like neither are very jealous. 

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive:: kate, probably, and then teases him about it for days to come. 

Takes care of on sick days:: kate is not the kind of person who allows herself to be taken care of but she would definitely go to great lengths to make sure he is resting. either way, i feel it is both. 

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day:: kate. she would pull him into the water and then grin at him cheekily and claim he loves it. 

Gives unprompted massages:: anthony. i don’t know why but i feel his love language is showing little displays of affection ( i could be wrong, tho ) 

Drives/rides shotgun:: kate. she is an aggressive driver but she loves it. it helps her decompress. 

Brings the other lunch at work:: this sounds like something anthony would do.but kate would text him to go grab quick lunch.

Has the better parental relationship:: this one is tricky because they both have great relationships with their mothers. 

Tries to start role-playing in bed:: kate for sure. 

Embarrassingly drunk dancer:: probably both. 

Still cries watching Titanic:: i don’t even know if they watch titanic but it is not kate. 

Firmly believes in couples costumes::  kate goes hardcore with them. she starts planning them at least two months ahead of time because they have to be THE BEST. anthony entertains her. 

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas:: anthony. 

Makes the other eat breakfast:: anthony, he is always willing to bring her coffee or go for a quick food run and kate finds it adorable even if she resists to admit it. 

Remembers anniversaries:: both, although i have a feeling anthony is better at it.

Brings up having kids:: they always talk about it as a future thing but never as a short term kind of thing. i feel like if it ever happens it is going to just bite them in the face.

Penelope hummed in contentment, a fond smile growing on her face as she listened to her husband whine impatiently. “Hmm, do not rush me husband. You were the one who asked me to edit them,” she reminded quietly, leaning back into his embrace. It was difficult for her to resist him though when he was being this adorable. She let out a sigh before reluctantly placing the journal down on the table in front of them. “I suppose I could take a small break though. Is that suitable?”

COLIN WAS FEELING EXCEPTIONALLY — irritated that day, specially when he spotted his brother just sitting there, he couldn’t quite understand why he was so annoyed by just looking at his brother. “Your face is just annoying me.” The man said and looked at Benedict before smiling softly and shaking his head. “I also saw you talking with Miss Featherington a moment ago in the drawing room, don’t charm her.” The man added annoyed yet again, the man was absolutely annoyed and a small scowl falling to his lips. “I mean you can if you want too, but you shouldn’t.”

   His brother’s less than jovial response was enough to elicit a roar of laughter from the elder Bridgerton son, his mouth tugging into a wide, crooked smile. It was the perfect response, and if Benedict had been in a lesser mood, he might have found it annoying himself, but now he simply revelled in the dark cloud hanging over Colin’s head. That wasn’t to say he wasn’t sympathetic, exactly. There was a brotherly compassion beneath the teasing, as there always was. “Who, Penelope?” he asked ( as though he’d forgotten she’d just left ). Leaning his sketchbook down against his legs, he’d lost interest in it the instant Colin voice hit that sharpness, even with a smile on his face. “Feeling noble today, are we? I would hardly think talking to her is the same as charming her.” He looked at his brother curiously, brown eyes pinching at the sides, his dimples having gone flat as his own smile faltered. “Do tell why I shouldn’t, hypothetically.”
