TW: Zombies, zombie related cannibalism

I had another dream about zombies last night, but I liked the premise of this one more than expected. It was a horror slice of life from the zombies perspective.

In the dream, a company kinda like Umbrella made the zombie virus and failed to contain it properly. Well, one of the zombies, who used to work as a kitchen diner cook while alive, gains extra intelligence after eating one of the scientists. Instead of trying to escape and spread the virus, they started cooking.

They gather up the remains of the scientists and whatever ingredients they can find and began cooking the human remains diner style and feeding the other zombies.

The more humans they ate, the more humans they looked and acted, even having some of their rotting stopping. I don't remember how, but somehow they get humans to return to the place over and over again. When the humans get there, they are convinced that the zombies that are there are just regular humans like them and get convinced to join the zombies in a religious service or something like it. While sitting in the pews, the Cook Zombie quietly blows a whistle, quietly signalling to the others who to pick off one by one.

Interesting plot and I can't get the sound of that whistle out of my head.

What are your thoughts of Jiangshis?

I honestly had to look up what these monsters are because I have never heard about them until now. But I greatly thank you for the introduction because DAMN!

So if yall don’t know as well, Jiangshi’s are known according to Google as Chinese hopping vampires. It’s a type of undead creature that’s featured in some Chinese legends and folklore.

Other websites describe them as being a combination of a vampire and a zombie which I think is freaking sick as fuck!!! Like they’re so similar but different which makes mixing them together so fascinating!

I love their designs and how they’re usually featured, I honestly think they have a beauty to them that a lot of vampires do. The history behind their designs is also really cool. Apparently they’re usually always seen wearing funeral attire. And their hair and nails continue to grow, unlike western vampires.

The origin of where this all comes from is lowkey kind of heartbreaking. At least from the things I read about them. Because I may have gone on a little research binge about these guys because of this ask lol.

I totally wouldn’t mind writing for these guys if it was culturally ok to do. I think it would be very interesting to explore how their personalities differ from western vampires. Jiangshi x vampire?? 👀

All I’m saying is that if Officer Bega and Seiko got together we could have Zuma becoming a protective big brother for Momo and Vamola.

Imagine the comedy of Bega seeing Momo and Okaruns bidding romance and immediately declaring a no closed door policy in the house now. Or Bega turning to Zuma and telling him to make sure Momo and Okarun keep it appropriate while they are out.

Zuma teasing Okarun about being good to his ‘little sister’, while Momo groans and complains that they aren’t even siblings officially yet. All while Vamola goes with it immediately, calling Zuma big bro without issue and unknowing teasing Momo about the whole situation.
