Happy #NationalLoveYourPetDay to my dynamic duo of Miss Fanny and Tucker
I'm incredibly fond of Maneki Neko, or beckoning cats, and have quite a few around my house (probably too many haha).
I felt like it was time I tried making some slightly spooky Maneki Neko myself, and I'm very pleased with the outcome! My outstanding husband studied in Kyoto for two years, and Japanese calligraphy was on of his studies, so he graciously supplied the writing.
All four will also be made into stickers and should be in my hands soon!
I chose to make the cats in Calico (good luck, wealth, prosperity), Black (safety, warding off evil), Gold (intense wealth and prosperity), and of course Egyptian Mau (to honor my own lucky cat).
Beckoning cats with the left paw raised invites customers or people, the right paw raised invites money and good fortune, and both paws invites both as well as protection of home or business.
If time allows I'd love to do more colors and variations on these designs- and possibly even make some Maneki Neko Your Cat Here commissions available! :>
I made some Maneki Neko Lucky Cat stickers for my shop, feel free to give them a peek here!~ https://etsy.com/shop/DeepwoodCrafts
ABSOLUTELY NOT
“None for me?”
We recently added a new flavor of cat treat, and Tommy the Cat has made it known, repeatedly, that he enjoys the new treats and would greatly appreciate it if we would feed them to him non-stop, and that he cannot comprehend why we, with our dextrous fingers and opposable thumbs, would refuse his simple request.
Want to give the cats some treats? We have wishlists on our linktree.
Pleaze sir, I need keebles in my belly. For you can see I am wasting away.
