"it's sort of a random thought." well, not random for him but it would be random for heechul. maybe. he paused the movie he and heechul were in the middle of. they hadn't actually finished it yet but it was one of those more comfortable hang-outs. silence or scrolling until there was a topic they both wanted to talk about. "well, i have sort of a random thought, what company would you want to get into?" he knew they both had the dream of becoming an idol but he never really asked. it was a sort segeway, anyway.

"i think enough time has passed so i'm allowed to tell but i auditioned for studio delta and failed." it had been hard keeping the audition a secret and then he didn't want to talk about his failure. "i think it stung a little more because they told me to try out for another label so now i think i'm dead-set on joining." unless his desire to debut won out. "but, thinking about you…do you have a company you want or should i just take any opportunity?"

it wasn't unusual for eunbin to be hanging out at these join university events. being part of the cheer squad, it almost came as an expected responsibility. something about having to continue to promote the school and the squad so that it never runs dry of members.

whatever the reason was, she was here, and she'll have to be for another hour or two. it would look bad if she dipped right away. however, she wasn't fond of the loud atmosphere or the way everybody seemed to be interested in drinking games over actual communication.

eunbin quietly slipped out into the back alley of the restaurant, letting out a sigh that she hadn't realized she's been holding in. she had expected to alone but instead, she found herself with company. she can't seem to recall if she's ever seen him before, but that wouldn't be a surprise. people came to these joint events and then never returned or vice versa. it wouldn't surprise her if it was his first time.

"are you here to escape the loud crowd inside as well?' she threw out with a chuckle before kicking a pebble that happened to be in front of her.

yuji’s been getting into cooking lately. when she has time at home, she’s always trying new things and recipes– all within an appropriate budget, of course. that means more trips to the grocery store though, unfortunately. a convenience store isn’t going to have everything she needs to try something new, or something specific. 

she’s somewhat of a regular, at this point– at least for the store near her apartment. to the point where the employees greet her when she comes by. it’s kinda wholesome, when she thinks about it. it’s also a little embarrassing, too. but it does have her remembering faces quite quickly. especially when not in a grocery store, for once. instead it’s a little cafe in the area. once yuji hops in line, she recognizes a familiar face amidst the bunch. curious, her eyebrows raise in surprise, a soft oh leaving her. “oh. hello.” the corner of her lip twitches. “i know you.”

"i like streaming, but it can be so annoying sometimes." sua scowls down at her tablet, her stylus moving over the screen in sharp motions as she sketches. "like, my art streams are usually fine. i get a jerk every once in a while-- but when i just want to sit and relax and be parasocial, i get the worst people ever when i game. it's so..." she trails off with a roll of her eyes and annoyed scoff. "people are just...ugh. maybe i'm not built for this. should i just ignore viewers? should i just stick to edited vods?"

sua's just complaining, really. heechul would understand to some degree, considering they're both into the same space. she won't stop streaming just because of a few dumb chatters (her pride wouldn't dare let her), but it's nice to get it off her chest sometimes.

"what about you? you have anything to gripe about?" sua jokes, eyes lifting from her tablet briefly to the other, then back down.

"the plan is to shop until we drop." tae grinned, nudging heechul. "well as much as we can carry, i wonder if i could get a small tree." he hadn't planned on decorating his apartment but the festive season managed to wiggle it's way into his heart. that also meant going out with his favorite person in the world. "i don't think a huge one would work out but something decorative." he didn't plan on having presents under it.

"lotte...they never fail to go all out huh?" the entire place was full of festive cheer. "i was thinking of hitting the gift shops first, i should find a few easy things over there...by the way, what do you want for Christmas?" he had already started working on his own gift for heechul but he wanted to get something heechul wanted as well. "whatever you want! name it!"

he couldn't deny there were a few complex and confused emotions pushing through him he set his eyes on heechul. now more than ever but tae managed to stuff it down to focus on his current task. pretending he knew how to cook really, really, really. tae wouldn't consider himself a bad cook per say, he knew enough of his way around the kitchen even if he defaulted to take out. but he wanted to go all out for heechul and that meant something fancy at this house.

it only took an hour before he realized fancy wasn't in his wheel-house.

so he did the next best thing. buying and plating. it was also hard work, moving the food from the containers to the plates and then making sure he got rid of every bit of evidence of his minor lie. honestly, if heechul didn't figure it out by the end of the meal, he'd spill. there would only be so many times he could get away with it. the thought, though silly was enough to perk him up by the time his friend arrived.

"straight to the dinning room to eat first. we don't want it to get cold." were his first words as the other boy walked inside. as always, it was heechul so he didn't waste time grabbing the others hand and pulling him along. "what are we in the mood for drinking tonight?"

"i haven't bought art supplies in a long time." sua recounts to heechul, glancing between different pencil packs with a critical eye. she hasn't really had to do so, much preferring the comfort and ease of her tablet over normal paper and pencil. her time's limited though, and it's hard ensuring that her tablet is safe as well as charged most of the time. back to basics is her essential thought process now. sua doesn't mind it too much. "i feel like there's so many new brands i haven't even heard of before. like, what's even the difference here?"

she holds up two different brands of pencils to the other, her eyes narrowed as they dart between the two. they're both the same size, a similar pack amount. the price range is a little different, but they look like the same pencil. "don't they look the same? one says the graphite is stronger-- what does that even mean?" sua's expression twists into something both confused and frustrated.
